That was poor Norwich passed through us like a knife through Butterfield. They look quite a decent side when they move it with pace. Putting pressure on our defence, leaving space behind cos they know BJ ain't gonna control, turn and start an attacking move. Maybe bring Lansbury n De Saart on 2nd half?

Wow what a comeback I thought we dead and buried with 3 minutes to go but that Vydra hatrick and Weimann's scorpion kick really changed the game.

Fair play to Norwich and Wigan they did their homework on us, Wigan hanging back and Norwich attacking our defenders so we couldn't play out leaving it to Carson to go long and usually lose the ball.
We played like I thought we'd play post Pearson till the January window, so I guess the bonus is we only played like that once.
We look very average without Hughes, I can't put my finger on why Butters and Bryson go missing in games, but we had no real players that could get the ball and keep it. Baird seemed to be defending too high up the pitch before the sending off too. Hanson at left back not for me, not sure who could go there though, could Pearce do a job if Shackell came in at CB, Shackell offers no distribution at all so putting him in at LB might not work too well.
It's one thing to get outplayed but we seemed to get out muscled a lot easier than recent games, in hindsight I'd have gone Bent up front, and I hate to say it but maybe played a bit more direct and try to get the 2nd balls. Hoping some transfer business will mean we have some footballing outlets as well as/instead of Hughes, both up top and in the centre of the park.
Too late for West Brom though, I fear they'll do what Norwich tried to do, push on against our defenders, go 2-0 up inside 20 and then play the game out (not that Norwich did the last bit but they probably should have)
For me I'd go
..........................Carson......................
Baird.......Keogh....Shackell....Pearce
......................De Saart......................
................Bryson.........BJ.................
....Ince.......Bent..............Russell........
Not happy about the defence but don't know what options we have unless Baird can play left back and maybe put Hanson RB or Rawson in the middle and Keogh out on the right.
We need some kind of outlet for the ball which is why for me De Saart has to start, even if it's a physical boring baptism of ant football fire, BJ's natural game is to get forward and maybe his physical game could help Bryson try and find himself again.
Russell is our best defensive winger, despite his failings going forward at the moment.
Reading between the lines of SM's interview though my guess is going to be a radical:
........................Carson........................
Baird.......Keogh......Pearce...Shackell
...........................BJ.............................
.................Ince...........Bryson..............
Russell..............Bent............Camara...
This starting lineup is not endorsed by 2 Wellies.
With our injuries and suspensions if we could get a draw it'd be one hell of a result.

So, it appears we did no better in the re-run.
Thanks Wellies.
