Shouldn't count free signings as it's more interesting to see who got the best deals otherwise Kane would be free...

I think free should be counted. Clubs would've spent on wages, Serge's argument, anyway if they didn't sign Zlatan and Milner plus they would've shelled out on a transfer fee.
Agree youth players shouldn't count though.

Joel Matip for free? Must be somewhere close. Cahill isn't that great anymore, not bad but not great. Matip been excellent for Liverpool this season.
