Brewers Predictor (Cup 3): Watford

Remember our Cup Competition? It was last seen in August when Liverpool dumped us out of the League Cup 5-0 in a close encounter after we had scraped by at home to Bury. We had a league table that looked like this:

By 5pm on Saturday we will probably have found out who the winner of the first piece of silverware of the season is.

As for the game itself, happy to put the youth team out and lose 10-0. I am one of those who thinks the FA Cup died many years ago and my interest in it as a Burton Albion fan in 2017 is nil.

It was obviously brilliant for us in the past and I have not forgotten that. Yet I imagine that for more than 50% of the 92 league clubs and their fans the FA Cup is a nuisance. The fact that I consider the FA Cup to be a nuisance shows yet again how far Burton Albion have travelled.

Yet I really like the fact that many clubs of small stature or those counting the pennies have the FA Cup to make money. That is excellent.

What hacks me off every year is that the BBC televise some mundane standard premier league encounter (West Ham v Man City this year) or something disinteresting (Spurs v Villa on Sunday). Wycombe v Stourbridge or Liverpool v Plymouth is more FA Cup than those 2 games.
