Afternoon all. Palace have submitted a £9m bid for Jeff Schlupp which has been rejected by Leicester. This is the third offer we have had from a club in the last year and for some unknown reason, Rudkin would rather keep an unhappy player who is performing dreadfully on the pitch and rarely gets a look in....
I think we rejected a £11m from West Brom in the summer, the offers won't get any higher than that.......come on Leicester, sell him!!

On his day Jeff is easily accessible £13 million + player. I'd hang on for that sort of figure personally.

its only Jan 9th.....plenty of time yet and other offers will come in before the end of the month
Will end up going for around 11-12m I imagine

I wouldn't worry we'll get a few more million easily enough, just enough to get Brady. We get a much better player and all you're fears regarding our transfer policy will be shown to be unnecessary so just hang in there ha ha

Well.....sounds like there are 3 clubs interested for him so that seems to be the logical thinking behind us rejecting the £9m bid. Fair enough, let's hope we get the £12m we are looking for.
Will he go on to progress to being a top player for someone else? Or will he always hit the corner flag when he takes a shot?

I think we'll get £12m, in today's market he's worth that irrespective of current form.
I don't think he'll ever be much better, he might improve his decision making and positioning but he'll never have a final ball.

I'm sorry but where are we getting that he is worth 12 million? The only real asset he has got is pace, for me he is a Championship level player, at 24 he isn't even that young.
Anything over 4 - 5 million snap their hands off for me.

Because it was a bid in that range that we turned down over the summer and because we may be able to get that again now with multiple interested parties.
Why should we accept £5m for any player when we could get more than twice that?

Of course I want us to get as much as we possibly can for him. That was more my valuation of him as I don't rate him as a player at all.

I think there's something about him. He's able to go past Premier League full backs, and that is a commodity in this league. Through pace and power, and decent enough control, he can get in behind defences. The problem, of course, is that he's brainless. But a manager who gives him simple instructions (it's no surprise to me that Pulis and Allardyce are in for him) could get themselves a very useful asset.
I'd happily have kept him and played him if it wasn't for his new-found attitude problem and wanting away despite having the chance to play Champions League football. Which I can't explain. Even if it's put down to brainlessness, it suggests a certain degree of malevolence which I didn't think he had in him.
