Henri Lansbury

According to the NEP Villa have offered £40,000 a week to Henri and he has confirmed that he is no longer willing to sign another contract with Forest. We obviously cannot match that wage. £2,080,000 a year staggering!

I'm happy to see him leave especially for £3M plus by the time the bidding frenzy ends, for a player with 5 months left on his contract. I don't blame him for taking the cash, because let's face it, we all would in a similar position to Lansbury. Football career is short blah, blah.

But and here is the BUT Derby are rumoured to be willing to match Villa's offer?

Has anybody bothered to explain to Mad Mel what F.F.P stands for?

Griff, from radio Derby commentary, Shackell was massive v West From.
It is easy to think players in other teams are better than ours, but it is how a player blends in with our team

When you have too big a squad, players get unhappy. SMc has just brought harmony back to the squad - aided by injuries to some players. The dressing room is a happier place. I have noted over many years that successful teams very often use only a small number of players. It is different if we are to play in Europe (that is a long way off) when a big squad is needed. Here the additional players can be kept happy by rotation and the big plus of European football.

To add to that 3R, I would have thought that having certain players on inflated salaries who are putting in no more effort than the others, would be a major cause of dressing room upheaval.
Are we really going to risk that by bringing in Lansbury & paying him 40K a week ?

You are dead right Ang. It should be number one priority to keep a happy dressing room. A winning dressing room is a happy one. I think a happy dressing room is a winning one.

Effort must be a prerequisite: only ability should differentiate between players. If anyone isn't giving 100% then they must be dropped and weeded out, and I don't care if Player A's 70% makes a better player than Player B's 100%: the harmony will only come if everyone is actually trying.

Forest have accepted Villa's £3m bid, just reported.

Does that mean the takeover's through...?

If a player is happy, he will be giving 100%. If he is giving 100%. he will be happy.

'Sky sources understand Nottingham Forest's new potential owners have made an initial approach to Gary Rowett to discuss the possibility of him becoming the club's new manager once their takeover is complete.'

If a post is repetitive, it's Mapdini's. If a post is Mapdini's, it is repetitive.

Looks pretty certain that he is going to Villa.

£40k a week, what a joke. I am glad FFP is fair and in no way wants to make it so that only relegated Pl teams will get promoted in the future
