Big Names Must Go !!

So the January window is upon us .. Who stays, who goes, who comes in. We are strongly linked with Lansbury who i think would be a great signing. A central playmaker who scores goals, links up and play and runs at players. We have not had this in the team since Merson. Another central box to box midfielder would be great but i trust Bruce to get the right players in. The reason i wrote this article though is about the players that must go. Ayew, Grealish are two i would happily see out the door. Overpaid and not prepared to fight for the cause and we really dont need these type at the club. I watched the spurs game and Grealish was prancing around like he was Messi. Yes he is a talent but he rarely shows it consistently and at this level should be putting in far more better performances against weaker opposition. Ayew just does not want to be at the club and cashing in for 8 odd million and re investing is definitely the answer !!

We are going to have quite a few excess numbers, if we get in 3-4 more players as Xia and Bruce seem to be aiming for. I'd happily see Hutton, Bunn, Westwood and Ayew all leave. The first 3 are all triers, but it's not working out for them. It looks like we are aiming for at least 2 more CMs, one of which as you say is Lansbury, so really we need to drop a player. I would happily see Westy and possibly Tishbola leave. Bunn is now a 3rd choice and not required, and Hutton has never really been good enough. That being said, it would only be worth getting rid of him if we are, as rumoured, bringing in an improved RB.

Ayew irritates me, he has the skill which occasionally covers up his two big flaws: selfishness and no football brain at all. He's been heavily exposed at this level, where I thought he would succeed. I agree he should go. Grealish is 21 and Villa through and through, I think for me this buys him until the end of the season, especially given that lack of creativity and goals has been our biggest problem. I think he might improve when our CM area improves, and he isn't so isolated. Also he is just getting used to being kicked off the park most games, especially against teams like Cardiff.

So in summary, I'd hope that we get in 2 CMs and a RB. If that happens, I'd happily see Bunn, Hutton, Westwood, Tshibola and Ayew go. Fingers crossed we pull off some of these signings.

We desperately, DESPERATELY!!, need a striker. We should not have allowed Rudy to leave, at this stage - the timing was terrible. We all know his limitations, but I felt fairly relaxed about the AFCON, beforehand, as I thought Rudy and McCormack could form a very effective front two, at this level. But now he’s gone, we have no presence whatsoever up top. It was so comfortable for Cardiff, especially in the first half, and I really can’t see us troubling many other centre halves. For the first time this season, I am not looking forward to our next fixture.

Grealish has to stay. No question. He has not realised his full potential, yet, but he has so much ability and I think Bruce will get the best out of him, eventually. Already, he is the most fouled player in the league, which shows how much he concerns other teams. His presence, alone, creates space….if only we had the players to exploit this.

Don't understand why Grealish and Ayew "must go". Grealish has talent but is still learning, and to be fair the lad I think he realises that and is trying; he's gained us some useful points this season. Ayew has yet to fit in properly and it wouldn't be a disaster if he went, but he can still be a useful player for us.

Grealish has got to stay imo, play him behind the striker where imo he would be most effective

Linked with the Barnsley RB James Bree so its obvious SB knows where to start hopefully
