Its early i know but imo this game is the biggest fixture between the two in the league for years, 5 point gap could go to an 8 or a 2. If LFC win that is utd out of the top 2 for me, which means they slug it out for 2 CL places; it really is a massive game.
I think we can afford a draw but utd really have to win. Maureen is a master at these games though, its all about the result and it wouldn't suprise me to see him tactically stifle the game and wait for a set piece, classic maureen.
The one benefit this time for us is we have Klopp, a title winner; he knows this game is so much more than 3 points, hes been there done it and got the t shirt. He could be the difference in this game for us, as bizarre as that sounds.
I have a hunch we will have this team out at OT:

I think its such a huge game because if we win then whats what title winning teams do, win the very biggest games. Not saying we will, but if we do then that is a massive test passed and cfc will be wondering about us.

I agree its a one off game, doesnt matter about form in this game, you can bet your life both teams will be right at it.
I actually think it helps us this time being at OT, utd will attack and keave space for us, thats what we are best at. Hopefully the OT crowd will convnce utd go all gung ho and ignore maureens stifle.

Man Utd are probably favorite to win this match, judging by their recent form. Also, Jose looks like he's got his mojo back.
It will be interesting how will Jose approaches this game. Will they take a more adventurous approach playing at home ? They will probably leave themeselves open to Liverpool's quick attack. Liverpool are known for their quick passing and transition from their defence to the attack under Klopp. Or will he pack the defence and midfield and hope for Ibrahimovic moment of brilliance ?

Can will start this game and Origi will drop out. Klopp has been conservative lately in his team selection and his game plan.

The narrative about pressing teams (Spurs, Liverpool, city) has been done overblown nonsense. They don't half press in most games. Another boring game, I expect mignolet to have a stunner. 0-0

Of course they don't press half the time that's not how it's done, you'd be dead in thirty mins doing non stop pressing.
The press starts from certain triggers an example bring if the opposition have the ball in their own half and we have a man cover on all his short options then you press fast and aggressively to win it back or force him to give it away.
Liverpool's press isn't from the front in many games, it starts in midfield with lallana being a big part of it, the more forward players have the passing lanes covered and the midfielder makes the initial press.
The media don't over hype it you just don't seem to understand it

It's a concern I used to have with Valencia at right back but he seems to have sorted it out now. Been one of our best players this season.
It's Darmian on the other side I'm worried about. Decent enough defensively but is an absolute liability going forward. Really hope Blind starts instead but Jose seems to see something in Darmian for whatever reason

Jose always likes to have one defensive minded full back and one attacking full back. Read it in a really good Guardian article in the summer.
