Schlupp signs for Palace for 12.5m

i thought he would progress this season but sadly it never happened. hit the winner in front of the away fans at the team who come come 3rd in a 2 horse race in the cup a few years ago.good luck

Lets be honest, that could be said about almost all the squad this season............so far!

Will miss JS and have some mixed feelings about his departure, but all in all he was never quite good enough in any position. As a wing back and utility player he's useful, but in the current systems that we've been playing there are better options. So £12.5m is a good deal for all parties really.

Joby - I take the view that what Schlupp brought was underrated, precisely due to his lack of footballing brain. I think that Pearson understood him better than Ranieri did; Pearson gave him simple instructions while Ranieri tried him in the hole and on the right wing and he just looked lost the whole time. Let him fly up the wing, use his pace and power and take people on and you have an asset.

That said, I don't think that he's going to improve any from what he already is. And, considering that he wanted to leave for some reason, the move was inevitable.

Two things made me laugh about that interview,

"Everyone knows how big the club is"

Does he realise he's joining Palacr or think he's following Kante to Chelsea?

"Everyone knows the club should be higher up the league, at least the top half, if not in Europe, and hopefully I can help get the club back where it belongs"

Palace belong in Europe? I think he forgot his meds. If anything they belong in the Championship and he's got more chance of getting them back there than Europe

I guess they have to come out with this kind of rubbish but it still made me laugh. Good luck to him though, all the best and cheers for his service, he'll get a good reception from me.
