Right, I've given up with this game and I'm writing this from the stands after we've gone 80 minutes in a game of football and created zero chances.
Zero chances whilst looking shaky at the back, and confused in midfield.
My point for this post is simply this. Stop tinkering and making us toothless.
Ranieri has my full support, but oh my, he has he got his tactics wrong again today. I don't mind him trying something, but once again, like Middlesborough, when it's so blatantly not working after 20 minutes, change it. Change it back to what we're good at.
My biggest frustration about the tactics today is that we caused Chelsea zero problems. The best form of defence is attack. Spurs showed that against this team. Force their wing backs back. Pressure the midfield. Create chances.
Please don't think I am wanting Ranieri to leave, but I am wanting him to stop setting us up with zero attacking intent.
There were so many things wrong with the game today. The main one, our tactics. I'm sorry Joby but if you think formations don't win games, watch this shambles from start to finish.
Just looked up after 5 minutes. I missed nothing.
Angry.
Credit to Vardy for trying in a game where he was supported by no one. Credit to Albrighton for an excellent display. And don't bother whinging at me for being critical. I'm just angry and I want to vent.
The best form of attack

New formation same problem.
Lack of movement and anticipation encourages the aimless long ball.
No movement, no chance to be creative.
No creativity means no chances, no wins, low confidence, big problem

I didn't want that formation!
I think 4-3-3 with pace is our best bet right now. But I'm not complaining about the mistake, I'm complaining about the fact we stuck with it.
Toothless from minute one, to the end.
Unacceptable.

Mersey me old mate. I do think you've been missing the points I've been trying to make.
Of course we need to find the right formation to give us the best chance of winning games. Or, more accurately, we need to pick our best players in the right formation.
My point was that formations alone don't win you games. We didn't win the league last year because we played 4-4-2. Spain didn't win the world cup because they played 4-6-0. Hull City wouldn't win the league no matter what formation they play.
But, absolutely, we need to find a way of playing that gets the most out of our current squad. 3-5-2 could work with the right players as could 4-3-3.
I was surprised that Ranieir tried this change tonight after only just trying 4-3-3 for the last two games. Too many changes especially with a new midfield getting used to each other.
The other problem tonight was that our only likely outlet was pace. We weren't ever going to get anything from crossed balls into the box and we didn't have players who could take a defender on and dribble past them. No Mahrez and no Slimani. This meant that the balls from midfield would have to be perfect for Vardy or Musa and they weren't. Also none of the midfield 3 look the type to me who are going to get close enough to the front two, but are more comfortable across the middle.
The set up looked like it was only ever likely to try and stop Chelsea from playing and, to some extent, it worked in the first half. However, going behind so early meant that we probably should have torn up the script.
But we didn't lose because we played 3 at the back. We lost because the formation once again failed to give us the right balance between attack and defence - just like the Middlebrough game. The chances are that we may well have lost to a very good Chelsea side in any formation, but with the right personnel and balance we would have certainly have had more chance. Whether that's in a 4-4-2, 4-3-3 or 3-5-2. The idea was right (although risky for the reasons stated with new personnel and a recent formation change already), but the execution was poor.

Joby, you know I love you. I could never question you.
I just feel that we have the quality and players to have a real good go even the best teams this year. Today it was almost as if the players had been briefed not to go over the half way line.
I can accept losing. I can't accept poor management of a game.

I didnt think we were that bad in the first half after the 1st 10 mins. That 2nd goal put us to bed though

We haven't really had a go at any teams this season but then that seems to be CRs decision to play Italian football and build from the back, totally wrong for our squad of players!
I'm seen as anti CR for pointing it out earlier in the season while most blamed the players, my belief is that the players are shackled to play in a a way they aren't capable of to the results we achieved in game time as we did last season.
I'm sure we'll get there, whether it's going back to the way we were or changing to a new Leicester but so far this season it's been pretty 'meh' what we've produced.

I'm also seen as anti Ranieri TB which couldn't be further from reality.
There's no denying he's made some mistakes recently though.

Yep I'm apparently anti CR too.
I want nothing more than the guy to keep us up this season while we play some attacking football and have a go. I don't think I'm being ambitious
