Eternity Ring?

So what's the deal with these....

Whats the minimum I could get away with spending on one for a 10 year wedding anniversary?

And does anyone know any places online that have good prices, i'm completely clueless about jewelry, the cheap stuff looks the same as the expensive stuff to me...

My advice, for what it's worth, is get it when it actually MEANS something. Price isn't relevant.

I bought Mrs Shh one many years ago on the birth of our youngest (and last, after 4, it was snippy time for me! ).

I got it inlaid with 2 aquas and 3 diamonds for the five of us (me, our boy, and our 3 girls). It cost just shy of £5k at the time.

I've spent multiples of that on jewellery on her since for Christmases birthdays anniversaries - diamonds, rubies pearls, emeralds the lot - over the years, I've run out of gems to get her!

The point is that despite all that expense, after all these years, that ring is still her favourite piece. £5k, or £50k,or £500. The price doesn't matter mate - it's the sentimental value to them that matters. Getting one for the sake of it just wouldn't be the same. Wait 'til it's special.

Your experience may vary, of course.

++++

I think that is one of the nicest things I have read on here and agree 100% sshhhhh

It’s either XXXX filth on here or Walter the Softie daisy chain stuff.

And some posters on here have contributed to both.

Make sure the gold is the same carat value as her wedding/engagement ring.

Some jewellers have conflicting advice but rings made of 'harder' metal (gold) if worn on the same finger as softer gold will wear the softer gold down and or cause real damage.

And yes, found this out the hard way. Had to get a new band made for the diamonds.

I decided to just go ahead and ask her if she wanted an Eternity ring or if she'd prefer something else...

She does but to my surprise she doesn't want it to cost a lot of money (although, who knows what that actually means to her.... )

So we're gonna go have a look for one and have a wee city break somewhere too, who knows, maybe even in Dubai...
