We never paid 31m for Memphis. PSV released a statement and the fee was substantially lower.

----------------------------------------------------------------------Maybe it sounds funny but it doesn't matter who the opposition is when the performance is as good as it was that day. His touch, shooting and crossing were all unbelievable. You can judge a player's technique against any opposition and the technique he showed for the first goal was outrageously good ( the one where he controlled a powerful pass on his chest, knocked it over the onrushing defender's head before the ball bounced, then ran horizontally across the box past most of their defence in the style of a prime Ronaldo or Aguero, and then smashed it in the bottom corner).

Idk VC I think he was pretty talented, mentally lacking massively though.

I remember when you lot signed him a mate of mine living in holland said he wasn't ready for that jump yet. He said he needed a good two more years in holland or the move needed to be to a schalke/Wolfsburg kind of side before making that next jump up.

I think that proved to be true. Hopefully for his sake he can recapture some form at Lyon.

Obviously you could say he should have taken his few chances but it isn't that easy.

I don't buy that. He has also had more than a few chances.

Look at Rashford as an example of grabbing your chance when you get it.

I have been living under the belief that Rashford has lived in England for all of/majority of his life?

It is thought the fee is £16m rising to £21.7m, with the add-ons including Lyon qualifying for the Champions League and Depay getting a new contract.

That's according to the BBC. So not too bad. Decent fees and hope he has a good career. Just not against United.
