Deadwood

I realise Schneiderlin and Memphis haven't done it for us, so had to go, and pleased we got good fees.
But I can't bring myself to think of them as deadwood, I was really pleased when we signed them, and thought Scheiderlin was a top midfielder. Memphis I was excited about upon reading what reports said.
I hope they do well at their new clubs, and wouldn't be surprised if Scheiderlin turns out to do very well.
Do we all feel that they are deadwood, or should we have persevered a little longer.

Reported that we have sell on and buy back clauses.

That tells me the club still have faith in the player to fulfill his potential and either United or some other club will want him within the next few Windows.

If the club "has faith" in a player then it wouldn't sell but maybe loan them. Sell on clauses are there just to grab some extra dollars if it seems your judgement is awful in getting rid.

I'd say Fellaini was bigger deadwood than them but for some reason managers think he's an actual decent footballer.

Fellaini for all his faults has contributed to us more to both Jose and Lvg than both morgan and depay.

Hes not a starter but is a good option to have off the bench as showed against the dips.

Correct.

Not that it matters but is "dead wood" not two words? "Deadwood" is a US town and tv series I think.

Anyway, technically they are dead wood because they were nowhere near the first team and were contributing nothing. That said, they are both better imo than the term would suggest they are. Or they at least have the potential to be.

Fair enough, 52. I don't care either way...was just wondering really. I haven't watched Deadwood yet so wasn't even sure I was right!

I think Deadwood gets good write-ups. It stars the guy who was Lovejoy, whose dad was the death at United many years ago. So a United connection.

Yeah I've heard Deadood is great. Just haven't got around to it yet.

I have seen Ian McShane interviewed on MUTV though. Seems like a good bloke.

Aye, I got that! If I hadn't seen the interview I'd have been confused though...
