Great to see youth given a chance. Most won't make it with us but it's testament to our set up that so many are going on to have decent careers.
Of the current lot I think TTA and Ojo have a long terms future with us.
Ejaria possibly but I don't think his performances match his talent so far.
Any others?
19 players given debut under Klopp

12 of the 19 were already at the club, doubt may other clubs will have handed out that many debuts in the same period.

You had bigger gap to fill though. You have a good starting XI and but your bench is relatively poor.
Looking for youngster to be on the bench or play cup game is quite common. Well, unless your team is manged by Mourinho.

I don't really get this weak squad stuff. So that same squad played City and Utd with many first team players missing and we took four points. If it's so weak how does this happen?

Outright number of players is meaningless.
What you want is players who go on to establish themselves in the first team squad
I'm not saying Klopp isn't going to achieve that - hopefully he will - but all those débuts can be handed out to gloss over the facts. Case in point: Mourinho at Madrid. He was aware how important promoting youth was to appease a certain segment of fans, and handed débuts to 20 academy lads during his tenure.
Very few of them actually got to mke more than half a dozen appearances though, and the majority had been ditched long before the mnager himself moved on.
As said, not that I think that's what Klopp is about in the least. Just a reflection on what those outright numbers can sometimes hide.

I don't think it is an alluded to it in the OP.
You only know if they are good enough for the first team by putting them in it but ultimately it's good for the academy if players are going on to have decent careers and the majority of ours are from the last five years.
This creates revenue but also should help attract youth players to the set-up when they can see a proven route of progression in their career.

With a club like Liverpool these lads are more likely to make it. We haven't got the squad depth of the other top sides and that's probably not going to change too much as we're going to bleed a few players this summer. Klopp knows what he's doing.

I like the team ethos you have and like us you don't have any massive egos to contend with. Klopp obviously thinks like Pochettino, that if they are good enough then they are old enough.

IMO not many really will make it
But the what is making it? Ibe, did he make it? 15mil fee seems to say on some level yes
Most others don't even make championship for us
So:
TAA. He absolutely saved gomez at least twice in that game. he was doing well
Gomez. A signing but still a teen. Positionally he was very poor. needs time and to show he improves this fast
Ejaria. Sadly i just don't see it anymore, his ability to pick a pass and execute with speed is lacking.
Woodburn. Came alive when moved to coutinho role. Side failed to give him the ball fast enough.
wilson, actually 20 isn't he? or at least very close. need to look it up. He looks light weight and i don't see him being able for the prem level so times not on his side!
Brannagan. vanished..... he may not actually exist and i only dreamed him up at this point.
Ojo.. did ok when he came on, plenty of pace but plays quite an immature game right now. is capable of a lot. Could be a ryan babel to my mind.

Giving players debuts is good for several reasons.
1) Inspires others at the academy.
2) Creates a feel good factor in the fans, everyone likes to see young players given a chance.
3) Even if they are not going to make it, making some appearances for us puts some value to a future sale price.
It's no surprise that Klopp has turned to the academy given his record at Dortmund.
I would much rather watch a team of young players than a team of 30 year olds who aren't good enough for the first team which is what we had a few years ago with Joe Cole and the like still hanging about.
We all want a strong squad that can compete for trophies, but not for me at the expense of giving young players a chance. There's got to be a route to the first team available.
In terms of who will make it, it's hard to say.
6 months ago Wilson looked a goner but he's kicked on massively and did well last night when he came on. On the flip side Brannagan looked good to make the breakthrough this season but has gone well down the pecking order and can't get a game now.
Fortunes change quickly, and it's hard to predict who makes it and who doesn't.

Robbing, Ithink the point of disagreement is that making their début doesn't mean they're given the opportunity to prve themselves. How many players have looked shaky over two or three games -and it's quite logical to be a touch nervy early doors- but then gone on to assert their place and worth given more time.
That's why I say débuts alone are meaningless. More often than not, one or two starts isn't enough to tell if a player has it in him or not.
