And what are your best and worst memories of being at a live game there?
I know a few of you are there most weeks but some of us don't have that privilege unfortunately. Some of us don't live in Manchester let alone England.
Anyway I've been 8 times in total, soon to be 9 for the Hull game in a couple of weeks.
My best memory:
Seeing us wrap up the title vs Villa in 12/13 and that magical goal from RVP. It's a night that will always stay with me. Also very memorable was the 6-0 against Newcastle in 07/08. Ronaldo's first ever hat-trick and one of our greatest sides of all time.
My worst memory:
Getting beat by the Scousers 3-0 under Moyes. Although that was the worst, Southampton last season ran it close. At least in the Liverpool game the atmosphere was great and we could accept that they were a far better side than us that year but the Southampton game was was one of the most dismal performances that I've ever seen from a United side. The atmosphere in the stadium was demoralising and it made up my mind that LVG's time was up.
How many times have you been to OT?

Literally lost count of how many times but had season tickets since 89, so I think it's safe to say.. a lot! I've been really privellaged to see great games home, away and in Europe too.
The one game that always stands out as my all time favourite at OT was the second leg CL semi final where we won 1 - 0 against Barca. Scholes scored a belter, and I'm not joking when I say that's the loudest and proudest I've heard OT in all my times there. Everytime Messi got the ball, everyone was just screaming "kick him!"
Atmosphere was truly outstanding that evening.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I was living in Leeds when that Barca game was played, and watched the game in what was likely the city's only United pub, The Hyde Park.
There was a really good crowd in and a bunch of us ended up dancing on the tables and singing outside after the game.
Locals weren't that impressed
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I bet they weren't
I watched that game in the Lass O' Gowry, where the locals were a bit more enthusiastic.
One of the tensest games I can remember, knowing that a single goal for them would put us out.

The best game of football i saw at OT was the 3-2 against Bayern.... unfortunately we went out on away goals.... but the atmosphere and quality of football was very good.
---------------------------------------------------
That was a great game despite the result.
I'd a pounding headache from drinking all day before the game. The two goals in 7 minutes didn't help it. That really was some start we made. Atmosphere was up there with the League Cup semi that season.
I was in Platts and I can remember Rooney being a doubt for the match and once it was announced he was starting, a real buzz went around the place.
Speaking of Platts, it's getting knocked down soon apparently to make way for a new tram route which is a shame.

No way, I didn't know that about Sam Platts. Is it definite?
I was at that Bayern game as well. Fantastic atmosphere as you say, but I seem to remember that a lot of it was anti-Glazer/green and gold stuff.
The Bayern fans were pretty good that night too, and from the South Stand I got a fantastic view of Robben's wonderful, heartbreaking goal.

I think it is.
It's part of a new route to the Trafford Centre. It stops at the IWM and then it looks as if there's going to be a stop exactly where Platts is.

Yeah that was the main season for the green and gold campaign.

Yea, the buzz on the tram when the Rooney news came in set the scene for the match.
The Robben goal.... You just knew as soon as the corner was sent in that a goal was coming, was like slow motion.
Some of the goals that night were exceptional.

Can I count the time I asked if I could leave the stadium to make a very important phone call at half time only to be told I wouldn't be allowed back in if I stepped foot out of the stadium, even though I told the guy I would be in perfectly visible surroundings at all times during my exit?
I never got back in that day.

A magical night and except for the last few minutes I had my back to the TV as I sat marking a stack of mediocre A-level coursework.
Such is life

Fack, I didn't know that. I've always preferred the Trafford personally, but that's a great shame.

I was on my way there on Sunday when I seen the queue for hotel football wasn't as big as it usually is so I thought I'd try that.
We were downstairs and it was actually pretty good. Decent selection of beer, good pie, plenty of big screens to watch the Everton City game and a bit of singing.
