I'm not sure Pogba should be our second highest rated player, he literally did nothing. Mkhi made a few mistakes but at least he was trying to make things happen.

what i personally noticed id the lack of creativity
herreran is playing way too deep and the defensive responsibility means he chooses the safe pace which too often

with pogba seeming the only one with creative freedom. We need both pogba and herrera creating and that means having that safety net behind them

We were playing with 2 in midfield for the last 15-20 mins and before that herrera was playing the holding role of 3

that's my point
holding role and then the defensive minded of the 2 cm role.

we need him higher up the pitch making the sharp passes he is capable of. Although pogba has the better passing ability, he dallies way to long when an incisive pass is on and by that time the chance opening is gone

Don't get the Valencia hate today. But for bad finishing and wussing out he creates two chances with left foot crosses.

Man was a beast today

Herrera was poor again IMO. He simply seems to lose concentration mid match

Mikhi played well

IBRA was poor. Way too laid back. Hardly getting into the box

Agree with IBRA and Jose. With pogba my theory is that he has been given a free role to express himself by Jose and that is the mistake. I think way to manage pogba is to tell him to do a certain role.

Agree with Valencia and Ibra.

Mkhi was hit and miss; some of his passing was sloppy but he was our most threatening player first half.

Thought Herrera did ok. Won a few fairly important challenges, made a few interceptions and kept the ball well enough, which was his job today.

I just woke up thinking about Valencia using his left foot rather well at Stoke, I know that's rather random, but I was thinking he must have worked very hard this pre-season, cos last season he was still one-footing everything to the point of ridiculousness. Good for Toni, and he works as hard as anyone. I did not dream this, right?
