What exactly were people expecting Leicester to do this season ?

Build on min try to achieve Europa places and buy better players. What people seem to forget is coming first gives you a lot of cash

This is Leicester not United,Chelsea or City.
The money won and generated through last season will be firmly put in the coffers for the time being because, minor last seasons extraordinary campaign, they're a team who have been continual relegation battlers.

This isn't even up for debate. Yes they are.

No because Leicester are currently in the sort of position I would expect them to be in.

Last season was a freak. Quite literally everything fell into place for them. They played at several levels above themselves both individually and collectively while most of the top teams failed miserably and should be kicking themselves when looking back on last season.

They didn't suffer too many bumps along the way either Leicester. After going top when they beat Stoke, they only lost once against Arsenal and otherwise remained pretty steady along the way.

Not going to take anything away from Leicester last season.
Their tittle winning achievement garnered some much needed love and charm back into the English game.

Vardy should have gone to Arsenal. What might have been? Now he'll just remain a one season wonder.

He'd be a one season wonder if he moved to arsenal too... surely?

As others have said, them having a slump was hardly unforeseeable, although it has to be said, the scale of their slump is probably a bit more than many might have expected.

Chelsea hands down.

Many predicted that Leicester will be in the top half(lowest I saw predicted on here was tenth and highest was top four). So their fall back to relegation battlers is a bit of a surprise to many. I guess now people realise how much of a one off it was.

The sad thing is that they bought players in the same vein as if they just fought relegation. They needed to sign players as if they would help cement a top 8 finish, and a change of style due to change of personal. Losing Kante, you have to change as it was unlikely they would be able to change like for like.

It was nice of them to win, rather them than our other rivals. Sadly for them, they are back to where they were and probably go down in a few years time.

Thing is, Leicester will only get worse once the CL kicks in again...

Would it really be that inconceivable for them to get relegated?

I think Chelsea last year were worse, considering the circumstances.

The Leeds champions finishing 17th (I think?) in '93 deserve a big shout too.
