Long ball and set pieces have worked well for United and Arsenal this season when searching for a goal against tight defence. Arsenal have done it most than others twice against Burnely with both shouldn't have been given anyway, then against United, Southampton, WBA and almost most of Giroud goals. United against Liverpool and many more.
My point is we could have used this as plan B when we couldn't penetrate teams defending deep. We may not have the right big players but I think delivery is very important and we can work on it. Unfortunately Henderson, Milner and our wide players deliveries are poor.
It's frustrating that we are the worst at both defending and attacking set pieces and long balls.

I'm not quite sure how Ox skinning the United RB and assisting with a cross to Giroud is a long ball. You seem to think even crosses are long balls. A good number of games you referred to had no such thing.

I'm not defending our play lately as we've been cr@p but the talk of us playing the long ball is nonsense we played a couple around the 90/91st minute mark not for the last 30 mins of the match

Punting it up to our strikers is usually the wrong ball.....

I think Arsenal have become the new United. Late dubious goals and sending long balls and crosses into the box. For years United were doing that. Nothing wrong with that. I wish we could do that.

Arsenal had 14 points because of bad referees. 4 against poor Burnley both late goals were offside plus one handball. 2 vs Southampton not a penalty. United and Leicester had clear pens not given. Goal against Spurs was offside. Bournemouth had a penalty and goal not given...both wrong decisions.
