Home record 05/06

Played 19, won 18 and drew 1. A fantastic record- and whilst we cannot beat or equal that this season, can anyone see us winning all of our remaining games to finish the season close to that record?

I can see us at least coming close. Conte is great with ensuring consistency against the smaller teams and the big home games reamining are what? Arsenal, City and...?

I think we'll lose to Arsenal tbh. Our big game performances under Conte have mostly been poor.

Why - because we lost to two top teams very early in his tenure?

Not forgetting we thumped both Manchester clubs and beat Tottenham!

Man Utd was a good performance, fair enough. City and Spurs though we had periods where we were dominated badly and those games could have gone worse. I like Conte and think he's done a great job in making us very consistent against teams below the top 6, but we need to improve our performances and be more dominant in games against top 6 teams as well.

Against City we could have been one up before they had a sniff - and they only managed to get a one goal lead due to some inexplicable defending from Cahill who put in his own net!

As usual Sky made a big thing about KDB hitting the bar and overlooking what had gone before!

If we play like we did in the first half today we'll batter Arsenal. We'll outnumber them all over the pitch unless Wenger opts for three at the back, but Ozil's nullified either way - he'll be stuck on the wing or left isolated in a 4-2-3-1. If we deal with Sanchez, we'll have them where we want them.

City could be more problematic depending on their form going into it. If they utilize Sterling & Sane as wingers (not inside forwards), allow their full backs to switch the play from deep, give Silva, De Bryune & Aguero free rein to drop into open spaces and Toure or Fernando hold their position as a screen they might be able to outscore us.... maybe. As of today we should beat them though, we know our system inside out and they can't stick to one.

The rest will require us to have an off day.

Am I missing something here?

1 Chelsea 22 32 55
2 Arsenal 22 27 47
3 Tottenham 22 29 46

That is us in top spot and NINE points above the $puds isn't it?

Or they could bend us over and spank our asses like Wenger did to Conte at the Emirates

A well executed 3-4-3 trumps a well executed 4-2-3-1 (Arsenal's preferred system). To match the numbers all over the pitch they'll have to mirror it as pretty much every team does against us now, but crucially Ozil lacks the pace and awareness to play effectively on the wing as Eriksen did for Spurs. They'd also need to use Coquelin to keep Kante quiet as Wanyama did and he's frankly not as good, so I'd expect us to have control of the center.

Tactically speaking, provided we don't have a bad day + keep Sanchez quiet, we have them
