Ryan Mason

Breaking across numerous sites now (inc. BBC) that Ryan Mason has suffered a fractured skull and has bleeding within the skull. Wishing the guy a speedy recovery and all is well in the end.

Hopefully he's ok but will be saddened even if at the worst he can't play football anymore

Yeah I think that came out wrong, but when I was following the game on the live thread it didn't make a big deal of it so I didn't know it was that bad.

News saying he fractured his skull with internal hemorrhage, I hope that is not true. or at least less serious than originally anticipated. Wishing him a quick recovery.

Tackling late and using excessive force using lower body is a red card offense while head ramming a player in a late challenge carries no offence whatsoever. Rules and precautions should be revised to assure players safety.

no, it looked bad from my view, Cahill went 100% for the ball and bang full force into the lads temple, and i kean full force.

Obviously hope hes ok, just a freak accident but it did look bad to me.

Both players were just going for the ball, one player was playing for PL survival and the other playing to win the PL, both went all in to win it.

Just looked like a head to head collision that 90 percent of the time players will feign but this one was genuine and both were injured by, unfortunately one coming off far worse than the other

Didn't know it was bad, I'm sure the live thread told you there was NINE minutes of 1st half added time

"Both players were just going for the ball, one player was playing for PL survival and the other playing to win the PL, both went all in to win it. "

If both players go for the ball on the ground, and one is that late into the tackle injuring and opponent, he usually gets a red for dangerous play. It's not uncommon that because it's two payers going for a header these get missed.

Anyway, it was an unfortunate injury, let's hope he gets back to normal. Bleeds on the brain can be devastating but he is stable.
