I agree. And I also believe that our players are often somewhat limited and therefore more complicated formations (such as the diamond) will be harder for them to master than the simpler and more balanced ones I mentioned. i.e. We'll have more success using a more familiar or comfortable formation that may not be exactly right than a more exotic, theoretical one that may fit skills or personnel slightly better but requires more extensive tactical nous and confidence within our own squad in order to make it work.

I agree, just switch between 4-5-1 and 4-4-1 dependent upon need for 3 CMs and the inclusion or not of Okazaki or Mahrez in the middle/on the wing.

Can easily be altered mid game with out too much fuss.

This won't make underperforming players superstars but it will at least give them a chance to play in positions they feel confident with. Consistency and regularity.

Rotate when players are tired or out of form after several games not every bleedin match. I'm sick of this 'fast food', 'everything now' society'. People forget Drinkwater, Mahrez, Vardy etc all needed not only time to bed in and actually build on something. If our management are showing faith in a team/formation/tactics, why on earth would the players/fans

Ps again, this is not justification for some PPPs yesterday

He was talking in general, not specifically about the Spurs board!!

Indeed, a bit harsh on HRH King Ledley as well, I've always thought he was quite clued up.

I think Ranieri had in essence said he's going back to the tried and tested formations of 4-4-1-1 and 4-2-3-1.
