Appeal system

does anyone think an appeal system where a team gets 2/3 appeals a match, like in tennis?

It wouldn't disrupt the game too much and I know bad decisions add to the excitement of the game but it's getting a bit daft

If we look at just this weekends fixtures Hull at one nil down should have had a blatant pen. At nil, nil Cahill was all over the Hull striker, no foul and then Chelsea score.

City at 2-1 up, only god knows how Walker didn't give away a pen and get a red.

Liverpool at 2-0 down, Firmino launches the defender, score a a header and a goal is given.

Arsenal at 1-1 get a penalty when the player who was fouled was half a metre offside. I also thought their sending off was incredibly harsh.

Southampton goal disallowed when he was way onside.

I'm not targeting any team here, as we have been beneficiaries of bad decisions too, with several offside goals lately but the refs are incorrectly influencing games way too much.
To add to that you have billy big bollox refs thinking they run the show like Clattenberk, smirking his daft face across the pitch and celebrity ref Mike Dean trying to make sure he's the centre of attention every single game. I really think an appeals system could help.

Don't give me the cliched bull shiyte about this things even themselves out over the course of the season cause it's not true.

Leave football alone. It's already numero uno for a reason.

Technology works in other sports but all sports are different and football doesn't have the frequent stops in play like tennis etc.

Appeals and video technology for offsides, dives, fouls, corners.....Where does it end?

I haven't heard a good argument about how a system can work yet without totally disrupting the game.

Do we want a situation where a player scores a goal but we have to wait 15 secs to celebrate to check the offside because the linesman was 5yrds behind play?

Leave it alone.

_______________

Penalties - the decision could be overturned in less time than it takes to place the ball on the penalty spot.

Red cards - the decision could be overturned in less time than it takes for the player to argue with the ref about it, let alone walk off the pitch.

Offside goals - could be ruled out in less time than it takes to walk back to the centre circle.

Where is the disruption with these examples?

Clearly the system can't be applied to every decision but it can easily be applied to most critical decisions without any disruption whatsoever imo.

All the trials so far have been successful. No major delays, right decisions come to, no fan riots.

I'm still peeved off about that Lampard goal!

non-goal against Germany I should add.

It finally forced the football authoritys hands

Blatter leaving fifa seems to have also helped

You look now at how its helped the game and wonder why it took so long to be introduced

I disagree with goal line tech being successful, I feel Liverpool would've been better off without it
