The Loan Report

This week report

http://thechels.net/2017/01/the-loan-report-january-16-22-2/

Van Ginkel picking up where he left off last season, but no matter how well he does will he ever play for us, or just another profit when the time comes.

Brown is another one, doing ok in his 1st full year especially as his 1st stint was with a struggling club, can we see him ever holding down a 1st team place here.

Abraham will no doubt go n loan again next year, be interesting to see where he goes, i'm sure there will be no shortage of clubs interested in the Championship, is he ready for a PL loan or will his time be better spent playing in a division below rather than possibly sporadic game time in the PL. Dont want to see a Bamford situation where we think he needs PL experience but doesnt play.

No doubt there will be few pl clubs after him from next season.

I just dont know how many PL clubs would put their trust in a raw teenager to lead their attack.

I hope someone does but recent experience tells me it will be a bottom half club and when they start to struggle it is often the young loanee that gets binned for a more experienced forward.

Lets face it even Stoke buy £20 million players now, so much money in the PL and managers want instant results, relegation just costs the and their club too much.

He is probably worth £20m now He has been banging them in the championship for fun. Next season he has to be tried at a PL club.

Thought this article would be longer given how many players you have on loan.

Yeah we have some dross players on loan, that are not worth talking about Darren

33 on loan in total

Surely a few should mature into very good players?

Or is the policy to acquire in numbers in the hope one comes through or you sell on at bigger fees?

Most of them are eventually sold. We have had Ake, Kennedy and Musonda recalled from their loans recently. They are now training with the first team. Hoping to see them make their appearances in the FA cup. Also, we have Chalobah, RLC and Aina from our youth academy that are in our first team.

We are buying and developing talent in the hope that they will play for the 1st team, but if not we will make a healthy profit.

Its a bone of contention that we have not produced one home grown player who is a regular starter since Terry, but in fairness even though we have had the best youth team for the last 7/8 years not many have gone onto play at the highest level.

Its something I think has to change in the next couple of years as our under 19 CL double winning squad comes of age.

Maybe Brighton? Newcastle already have a better striker. Not sure who else will go up.

Bristol City are doing really terrible atm, bear relegation candidates. Abraham is still v young and think another season at a top, promotion challenging Championship club could well be beneficial
