Season after Suarez left..j

For half a season we played almost identical to the way we have been playing in January, lots of the ball little creativity and easy to score against from set peaces and on the counter attack..

Then something magic happened, Brendan Rodgers reverted to 3 at the back with Can as part of that defensive unit and I do say unit because from then on we were pretty solid defensively and found some attacking fluidity as well..

We have a better side attack wise now and actually better defenders I feel stopping the Rott of conceding easy is the prime goal and going for this formation with can at the back is the solution perhaps only short term but right now for me it's the answer..

We actually went on a winning streak of about 6 games and got back into contention for top four u till Gerard got sent off against United at a field then the wheels fell off a bit...

Does anyone else think going forward right now it's a good idea because one thing is for sure what we are doing is not working and we need a change of tactics...

Hopefully Klopp has now realised that 4-3-3 without Mané is pointless. In particular against teams who sit deep. During this rot he should really have changed the formation and I would have played 2 strikers from Firmino, Origi and Sturridge.

Ask yourself when was Sturridge at his best for Liverpool? Well when he had Suarez next to him.

Remember that game when Sturridge and Origi were together and we beat southampton 6-1?

Sadly over this rot klopp has been one dimensional. .

I think we need another signing in the Mane mold. What happens if he comes back and gets injured? Quincy Promes could be an idea. Lots of pace and big buddies with Wij.

As for three at the back, I think the players we have now wouldn't suit it, plus it can unsettle the defence as well as shore it up.

That actually requires the owners to get the cheque book out which doesn't happen a lot unless we make a sale.

I wonder if we got 20m for Sakho early Jan if we went into the market for an attacker?

Agreed entirely, we need another player in that mould for when Mané goes to play in the African rubbish competition or gets injured or suspended.

It would be a good move all round. I don't like to see Sakho languishing in the ressies.

January is a hard time to buy players. Always best off waiting until the summer really unless somebody decent becomes available.

But I said it before, Liverpool need to play with a N0.10. Now Mane is back, he can slot in RW, Coutinho back out on the left coming inside and Firmino up top but pushing Lallana on a further 10 yards from CM to AM can be crucial. He is very good with his feet and picking up gaps and Liverpool need somebody who can link the play between the 2 deeper midfielders and the more forward players and Lallana does that for me.

At the moment, the 3 Liverpool midfielders play in front of the opposition midfield and the 3 attackers play in front of the back 4 and the CB's don't pick up anybody. That's not going to be enough to break teams down, especially if they continue to be negative and slow with the ball like they have been recently.
