For Amiga (VR related)

Hi Amiga,

Probably a stupid question but is there any cheap 3rd party VR sets that can be used with ps VR?

Or is to locked in to just the ps VR and oculus?

Figured a cheap headset would not be a patch on a ps VR or above, in both ability and software, but I can't justify smashing hundreds on ps VR at the moment (even if I really want to scare the crap out of myself in res7). So I'd be happy with a low tech cheap intro for now.

I would say Simons summary is a little too simple, as far as raw power and resolution, Oculus and Vive come out on top.

However, comfort is a huge factor, also despite slightly l lower resolution the screen door effect is actually on par if not better with PSVR (different PSVR display tech) and even a higher refresh rate.

Also last but certainly not least Software is something Sony knows well and is a big plus.

Of course it isn't that simple, there are other advantages to the high end systems, but as far as value for money, PSVR is an easy choice.

I'm waiting for the day I can make my debut at Old Trafford, look around at the crowd and take it all in, then play the game in a 1st person VR style Fifa game

There are some very good games, but cant with hand on my heart say there are any real system sellers yet. Most are just big tech demos, which also isnt necessarily a bad thing, and lots of people are enjoying them a lot. We have also had the first of the big games with VR added (Resident Evil).

I do agree with Simon, VR is still in it's infancy, the games as well as the tech have a lot of room to grow and there is no need to rush out to get one.

Having said that, if you are lucky enough to own PSVR then you will not be dissapointed, it really is a glimpse of the future.

Playing Resident Evil in VR is a whole new ballgame and to think this is just the start.

Do you have to have loads of space Amiga? My room is quite small so i dont know if it would be the best bet to have VR at the moment

Gunner you don't need that much space for PSVR, basically if yo have enough room to sit and lean, that is all you need.

There are some games like Batman that is best played standing, but even that will only allow, 1 step or so within the enviroment.

The Vive for PC has roomscale, which allows more free movement, but most games don't require it.

Can you play Viva piñata on it?
