We're going down

Rant time. Not going to sugar coat this one. I am fuming. Absolutely fuming.

Firstly, the performance tonight. We never even tried to win the match, tried to steal a point and ended up losing it. Awful, awful, awful. Vardy, Mahrez, Drinkwater - all stars last season, all pitifully useless tonight

Vardy and Mahrez have been nothing short of a disgrace this season and, quite frankly, I wish we'd sold the feckless feckers. Take your awards and your pots and your C list celebrity status and pisss off.

Albrighton, Simpson, Huth, et al - we took a chance on you when nobody wanted you, you had the seasons of your lives last year but this season you've been appalling. If you've achieved your pinnacle, get lost, we don't need you anymore. You're journeyman, we can replace you.

Ranieri - I loved you last year but my god, you have been appalling this season. Do you even want to win football matches anymore? Stop taking time out of the club to pick up fancy doctorates and opening school buildings and get on with sorting out this mess. And for the love of God, please retire in the summer. We need new ideas.

The back room team, Rudkin, Macia, Neville, Whelan - your pathetic inaction in the summer and the last month has helped cause this clusterfeck. An absolute sh"tshow of ineptitude and inability. You were suppose to help turn this around in the transfer window and what did you do? Signed a kid from Belgium and Molla Wague. The worst transfer window in our history. Honestly, what a feckin joke. You all deserve the sack. And what's with the policy of not signing English based players anymore? We can't just trying to sign unearthed gems all the time when we're struggling to survive.

We started the season looking at Michael Keane and Andre Silva. We end January with Grenada's fourth choice centre back. I mean really? Has this club got any ambition beyond 17th? Do we care that we are an absolute laughing stock? Even the Have I Got News For You Twitter account is taking the pisss.

I'm so utterly ashamed and appalled by how quickly this club has disentigrated since last season. It's a disgrace. We have wasted our one and only chance to become 'something'. And in the process poisoned our efforts from last season.

Palace, Sunderland, Swansea, Watford, Burnley have all improved their squads this January. We haven't. I'm afraid we're going down, and we deserve to.

Utter, utter shambles.

BS, Dunge - I agree with you both.

I think we give Ranieri more time, and if it does not turn around, I guess we will need a change to try and kick start something. But we're not there quite yet.

Controversial I know but I think CR should go now.

He will always be a legend at the club, but for whatever reason this Premier League season has been an unmitigated disaster and there are zero signs that he has any idea how to recover the situation.

In my view I think we are nailed on for relegation if he stays. Maybe we will still go down if he leaves, but I think we have more chance of staying up if someone new comes in and shakes the players up.

Who? No idea. Probably someone on a short term fire fighting contract, but I'm not close enough to the managerial scene across Europe to know who is any good and who is available.

It would be disastrous for the club in every way if we were to be relegated and I don't think we can afford to give it another 3 or 4 games before the very difficult decision is made.

We're coming to town to give you a nice timely boost.

There's 3 worse teams than you guys. You won't go down.

I couldn't disagree with you more FFS.

You have called for CR to go, after a transfer window, so the hypothetical new man in would have to make do with what is there now.

Also you have no idea of who to bring in, mainly because there aren't any available managers out there that inspire confidence and would potentially have any impact on the remainder of our season.

Better the devil you know as the saying goes, sure CR has got some things wrong this season but if you are calling for him to go then surely you must be calling for Rudkin and the players to go to as they are as culpable as CR?

I actually think that CR going would be the worst thing the club could do in the current climate.

I'm going to stick my neck out here and say I agree with FFS. Yes, I'll incur your wrath Dilly, amongst many and I'm prepared to bear up and absorb it.

As I've said time and time again, I'm very much guided by what you chaps report on here on a weekly basis, whether it be regarding formations (and the wrong ones being implemented on the day as it has turned out on occasions), players coming and going, the 'mood' within the club at this precise moment in time etc etc.

Of course a new manager would have to make do with the squad he has in place at this juncture, but for the current manager to carry on with the way the sides have been playing in the league looks-at best-to be heading for a nosedive into oblivion. Whether there's a new man at the helm, or the present manager, they'll 'cop it' at the finish. Please tell me otherwise, give me some sort of belief that there is actually hope they'll achieve those 7 victories needed to stay afloat. Judging by what I've seen (and I can only apologise that it's been nothing more than armchair TV or radio listening) they are heading down.

No wrath coming your way at all Downsouf, you are entitled to your opinion as we all are.

We are just on opposite sides of the Dunge fence

Huth

While you are correct that we only need 3 sides to be worse than us, that is no way to look at the remainder of the season. We should be looking at the rest of the games as all being cup finals, and each player is playing for their future with our great club.

We want passion, commitment, energy, drive, desire and hunger. All things that the players have been severely lacking so far this season.

I think it's all down to player power now, unlikely CR will go unless the players turn against him, the owners certainly don't seem to panic.

Does anyone have any actual knowledge of who is to blame for our recent disasters in the transfer market?

I understand Rudkin is responsible for negotiations but does he also decide how much we bid for a player? Does he make the final decision not to bid more than X amount or does someone else make that decision?

Personally I can't imagine Rudkin has the final say, if he does then he has to go but if it's the owners then what difference will it make replacing him?
