Any whisky lovers here? Just finished my Macallan 12 and thinking of getting Glenlivet 18 or Lagavulin 16. Any other recommendations around $70 or 50 GBP?

I think whisky's vile, the smell alone knocks me sick. I don't like the taste of booze fullstop, but I do get drunknow and then. When I see someone enjoying a glass of wine or a short I do envy them, there's no food or drink that I savour.

What's a good one to start of with then ?
Can't deal with the sheer volume of pint after pint of lager any longer.

More than any drink, whiskey is all down to personal taste. But it would be an idea to start on something more gentle, not the peaty island malts, you need to build up to them. Get yourself a book on whiskey.
I'm not sure whiskey is for you though, you need a bit of refinement to appreciate it If you're just trying to lower your volume and still get smashed, which is what you're after I think, then get yourself on the Special Brew. Four cans of that and there ain't no one you can't offend
