Huddersfield Town 2-1 Leeds United.

Welcome. One & all
1st off.. No apology for the TOWN match thread coming up 2 days before the game.. You know how we operate on the TOWN board by now, You are all encouraged to say your bit... I fully appreciate Highland white does your thread on the day, Untill then..... let rip

The game we have all been waiting for is upon us.
Good baiting, ridicule & derogatory comments already flying around
on the previous thread. Clearly the game of the season (so far) For both clubs.

The Facts.
Town have a game in hand. Leeds have a 2 point advantage as it stands.
A TOWN victory puts us above the local rival.
Leeds win they go third..provided Reading are beaten away at Ipswich the day before.
Come on Ipswich . A win for the tractor boys, And Town could find themselves back in 3rd .
Both TOWN & Leeds can afford to hope Derby are successful v the MaggotPies, A result beneficial to both Yorkshire clubs should Derby peg back the Geordies.

Our antagonisms aside. This is how tight it is at the top of the Championship at present. Apart from wanting to humiliate each other, we do. Like it or not, have to depend on other results to work to our respective advantage.

recent from (league fixtures only- taken from the BBC league stats,)
Town 7 wins, 2 draws, 1 defeat.
Leeds 7 wins, 1 draw, 2 defeats.

5th v 4th. It couldn't be closer. Much a do from a few Leeds fans claiming this is TOWN's best season in years.. It is ! Spot on.
And yourselves, Newcastle. Derby, Barnsley & Brighton last night have all been beaten by TOWN. Unlike yourselves, TOWN have been league leaders for a short while. & remained a contender the whole season so far.
I think this squad put together by Wagner is more than capable of going the whole way. last nights performance was cutting edge at this level.
Leeds are going to have to produce something special to get anything from this game. and if we are being up front sensible, I think most LUFC fans would concede this is just about their toughest test yet this season.
The set piece aspect is something Leeds excel at, and will be a concern for TOWN. many from both sides of the equation have made comment on this. Other than that. I can't see where TOWN would be considered lacking in a head to head. Both teams press up. Efficiently.
Brighton looked out numbered time & time again last night.
Simply because of the team effort & spirit that has become instilled in the whole squad since Wagner's arrival. To me, Hughton looked like a man caught in the glare of a spotlight. Nothing they did altered the course of the game. The TOWN bench is a 'weapon' ! No one who comes on is a compromise. If Town make three changes with 30 mins to go.. expect an onslaught. They literally go again.
Disrespect at your peril. I expect much the same from TOWN on Sunday.

Wagner makes huge changes to the starting line up game after game.
He gets the formula right on most occasions. Three hicups so far...
The 5-0 drubbing at Fulham
The Sheff Wednesday double.
Other than that he gets it right. The league position proves this.

A full house despite tv coverage. And a home crowd that will be a different 12th man to anything that has been the norm before.
TOWN to win by a clear 2 goal margin.

And when all the dust has settled.
I'd like to see TOWN, Sheff Wed do the auto's. With Leeds triumphant at Wembley in the play offs. What a TERRIERIFIC season that would be
How good would it be for three local sides to compete again in the top division.

But in the mean time. may the best team win the....

This is OUR home...
OUR fans are what count.
OUR decision.... We decide.

And they'll feel the pincer movement on the day.

Look at where they put away fans and then they've the cheek to moan about not getting 4,000.

We should sell them the full 4,000. Then build a concave glass wall across the entire stand so it feels like they're watching the game from the international space station...see how they f-cking like it.

Some stats.......
"If" Newcastle had provided TOWN with 5000 tickets, (Did they ???) That would be 1 per 11 fans as a total being visitors. (55thou capacity)

TOWN have relinquished 1,900 for the Maggots.
say 23,000 capacity, (due to segregation areas - yeah yeah, I know it's 'officially' 24,500)

If a sell out, They'll be 1 in 12.
Our commercial team have got the equation right....
As some one commented on DATM...
Fork 'em.
