Ⓜ️Burton v WolvesⓂ️{live}

Halfy's back with another match thread instalment for your viewing pleasure, there's no need to thank me, it's what I do ......Hx

Burton Albion winger Michael Kightly is expected to make his debut against his former team Wolves after joining on loan from Premier League Burnley.

On-loan Fulham duo Lasse Vigen Christensen and Cauley Woodrow are set to play after missing the midweek defeat against their parent club.

Wolves come off the back of a fine week in which they followed their FA Cup win at Liverpool with victory at Barnsley.

Head coach Paul Lambert made changes for both matches and may do so again.

New signing Ben Marshall is available but short of match fitness as he has been left out by Blackburn for the last fortnight or so.

Romain Saiss is back from Africa Cup of Nations duty with Morocco but needs time to recover.

MATCH FACTS

This is the first meeting in any competition between Burton and Wolves at the Pirelli Stadium.
In September's first-ever meeting between the two clubs, Wolves conceded a 90th-minute goal from Will Miller in a 1-1 draw.
Just 7.3% of the shots that Burton Albion have attempted this season in the Championship have resulted in a goal - the lowest ratio in the division.
Helder Costa has had a hand in more of Wolves' league goals this season than any other player in the squad (12, seven goals and five assists).
Burton have lost each of their last five home games in the Championship, scoring once in the process.
Michael Kightly was a great favourite at Wolves, scoring 24 goals in 126 games in an injury-hit five and a half years on the books at Molineux, until he left for Stoke City in 2012.

Interesting interview with Jed Wallace in the London press today. Saying how unfit he became under the Zenga (lack of) training regime. Things improved a lot after Lambert arrived and he was pleased to have a good honest chat with Lambert who told him he wanted him to go elsewhere and play rather than sit on his r's

Interested to see what happens with Wallace, poorly managed when he first arrived by Kenny in my opinion, all the momentum sucked out of him and then given drips and drabs and expected to hit form.

I see Warburton has resigned at Rangers

Will be in demand in the championship thats for sure.

could he not work out how to keep fit without zenga telling him? i'd have thought running around a bit would be a start for a professional sportsman.

I see him strapped to a table as a group of U23s in hooded robes take it in turns to draw blood with their pointy teeth until every last bit of momentum has been drained off.

This is then sold on the Chinese black market at £10k per 20ml vial of momentum.

Marshall fit?

Not a chance. Yet another awful signing.

You'll all be despairing of him come next season.

Fair comment I guess but either way the guy needed to get back to League One or Two. Well down the pecking order for us and an obvious one for the clear out. Still a few more that will be shown the door in the summer

i think that's more the point DJ

at this stage in his career he has not been good enough to earn a place in the side ahead of any of our other midfielders. so he may not have the match sharpness that he'd like, and he will no doubt gain that by dropping down a league and playing regularly at a level he is comfortable at. no disgrace for any player, and good to see he has started ok on loan.

I just find it odd when players come out with lines like he has. a general lack of fitness (as opposed to match sharpness) is pretty inexcusable as a professional. if the zenga organised sessions aren't giving what you need then you have access to some of the best private gym facilities in the country, with staff on hand to work with you. similarly with marshall, even if the club didn't let him join the first team training sessions for three weeks, is that really a good excuse for not arriving pretty much ready to go? especially this time of the year when training is often lighter anyway.
