Local derby next year

Off to Walsall

This is taking the **** now, Bruce is a diabolical manager! We're in another relegation battle in the ****ing Championship.

How many more games of not winning before we say enough is enough with Bruce? If he's not under serious pressure given the amount he's spent (or wasted) I'll be astonished. Lose next game & it has to be final straw, doesn't matter how many promotions he has.

Don't know who we'd go for but this has to stop NOW.

I thought we'd fly up the table with the signings we've made but Bruce clearly can't get them to function. He can't keep getting time when we're losing every week. Absolutely disgraceful.

Unfortunately, I thought something like this result would happen

We spend most of the game attacking, the opposition justs sits back and defends, we don't put them under enough pressure, we fail to score, they nick a goal. Yet another loss

I think the squad is fine. I don't think there's a hangover from last year. It needs a manager who can organise the strengths of the squad into something dynamic which can grind out results. We ought to be a match for any team in the Championship.

So, Bruce, you have to do it. Or go.

Talking of local derbies, who is there in League 2

I think it sums up how bad things are at yours when we've only won one game in last thirteen and we are still four points above you and cacking ourselves...

It's de ja vu Villa. Start brightly, look like scoring, don't score, opposition get back into game, they score, game over. It's been like this for several years now. Todfay we had the chances to win. We hit the bar, had one cleared off the line, goalie made great saves.... WE JUST NEED A BREAK!

I promise you, if we are fickle enough and unrealistic enough to force out Bruce, then we WILL be in League 1 next season. We are trying to bed in SEVEN players into the first team and it WILL take time. I am not overly impressed with Bruce at the moment but he is a man who has four promotions at this level, somehow managed to get Sunderland, Wigan and Birmingham into the top half of the Premier League and has never been sacked in his career. He is unquestionably and without argument, the best man that this club could possibly attract. The play offs went out of the window a long time ago, in fact after the Wolves defeat. I'm realistic - we are in a relegation fight, AGAIN. With hindsight, I wonder if it would have been better bringing in 2-4 players in the window, rather than 8? But, on the other hand, maybe Bruce HAD to roll the dice in January.

Now, this season is all about getting the points to keep us in the Championship. If and when we do, only then can the new team bed in. Bruce IS the best man (if not the perfect one) and we should realise that. Let's not prove those opposition fans right, who say we are fickle and unrealistic. Let's not.

Not sure about giving Brucie the season. Surely we have good enough players to get results against some of the opposition we're up again. Bedding in should only take 2-3 matches, not the rest of the season.

We have 5 matches coming up, to Rotherham on 4th March.Newcastle is the only really dodgy one. We need to get something from those matches. would 8 points out of a possible 15 be reasonable? Something, anyway. If we're still losing to the weaker teams by then, big questions need to be asked.

What's worried me since the turn of the year is we seem more concerned with playing around with formations rather than simply going out and giving ourselves the best possible chance of three points. Winning matters hugely; it makes everything else so much easier. Bruce's determination to throw in as many of his new signings may not be wise. Would we have been better today with Amavi on the field. Probably.

Think there comes a point well before the end of the season where we have to ask the question, is this acceptable?

Bruce must stay but things need to change quickly as we need 50 points plus to survive.

One team plummets down league at least each year and goes down and at moment us and blouse are doing that nicely.

You can't deny Bruce's record in this league, that's a fair point to make. But we should be making progress under him, when in actual fact we've stagnated quite dramatically. When he first came in back in October, we not only got good results but were playing pretty good football. I wasn't happy at the 31% possession away at Reading, but we created a lot of good opportunities and won the game. Away at Brighton we dominated and should have won. We also beat a decent Fulham side and dominated the game.

Since the turn of the year, when Bruce was given serious backing from Xia and able to get his players in, we have been appalling. We lost away to very average teams like Wolves, Cardiff, Brentford and Forest, in Brentford's case making them look amazing. And only taken one point from fairly easy home games against Preston and Ipswich.

It will take time to bed a new team together of course, but the defence has not changed much and we should at the very least be making sure we aren't conceding while the attacking players find their feet. Conceding three at Brentford and two at Forest is completely unacceptable, as is losing a late goal yesterday against the run of play.

Bruce knows this league, he has taken much more unfashionable teams up like Wigan and Birmingham on a much smaller budget, it is only fair that we expect (even this season) to be top half and showing signs of improvement. But that is not happening and he must be under serious pressure.

I think giving him until the end of the season is sensible, but what happens if we carry on with this atrocious form and end up scarily close to the bottom three? Even if we ultimately survive, is that an acceptable season given the amount of financial backing the guy has been given? Given that he was backed to sign, on paper, the best players in the Championship - Lansbury, Hourihane, Hogan were all considered top Championship players.

Changing manager all the time is saddening and hugely disappointing for a club like Villa who usually give managers time. But Bruce is failing in his objectives by a huge margin and simply has to get things improving immediately. I hope he can turn it around starting Tues night, but if he can't he clearly can't do the job that was asked of him.
