Thursday Nights "Question Time"

I'm a regular viewer of the show which gives a good insight into peoples concerns regarding life at home and abroad.

My observation from last night was perhaps the structuring of certain questions with the show finishing on Putin and Russia.

I'm not looking to start a debate regarding whether Scotland is better in/out of UK and or EU or the UK is better in/out of the EU and focus on whether doe's any of this even matter when tensions are high with Russia, stability within the EU region is uncertain and the continued threat of terrorism.

Also it's in my opinion that the Indy ref 2 discussion is exactly about that and not about Brexit, if we remained i have no doubt that the SNP and media in Scotland would be forcing the issue and discussion.

I honestly think we in the UK are taking a short sighted view of geo politics and presently taking our security for granted.

If Indy Ref 2 happens, what are Scots voting for? to receive powers from Westminster only to hand them to Brussels.

What will an EU look like in two years time?

What will happen to an Historical British Armed Forces and how it will effect our security at home?

It really does pain me to think that voters are happy to split up the UK without really giving a thought to the internal and external consequences.

I fear that Europe is heading to what we seen in the Mid east all those years ago with mass protests in Tunisia and else where unless the EU makes the changes that protects the sovereign rights and wishes of a nation.

We've seen the open boarder mess from Calais, to Paris and Brussels and the lack of Intel - co op, where was the benefit there? to save on paper work and a few stamps? but to instead allow the free passage of radicals looking to do harm.

The bigger picture for me is scary and i'd rather go into the future as a United Kingdom than an Independent Scotland.

But that is what we want and hopefully we can move on now without the uncertainty of democratically elected people refusing to accept democracy

Indeed.

It's a strange world when democracy has to be requestioned time after time until the "correct" result is achieved.

You know what? This is something I've been thinking about recently.

Back in my days in architecture I did loads of "homers" drawing up palms for extending and renovating critters cottages which weee given huge grant aided funding to improve them. Many were bought by "white settlers" up from the south. Purchase price circa £2k. 90% grant funding up to £10k ish and voila; a beautiful wee cottage near the shore in the most scenic of locations costing the owner around £3k. Immediately worth £30k and heaven knows what now.

I missed a trick there.

Now considering buying one very seriously. 👍

My mate in Baku bought an absolute stoater of a steading in the highlands Ginger and it was like 140k for a massive house, on the shores of a loch, with mega land with it as well. I couldn't believe what he was getting for his dough
