“He was out of the squad against Gent and we cannot be sure if he will be in the squad, on the bench or start the game. Performance is always about how the players show their quality, their belief on the training ground.
“When I select the starting XI and the bench, I try to be fair. It is normal that maybe he (Janssen) needs to show more."
Most certainly an honest but brutal assessment from Poch on Janssen. I knew there was something up with him not even being on the bench against Gent. Clearly Pochettino doesn't have faith in him and it's pretty evident that he's not impressing even in training. Not really good reading this is it.

Sissoko is by far the biggest flop of the transfers this season due to being prem ready.
Played 4 seasons yet you wouldn't know
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Jansen has been worse than Sissoko.
I'm not saying that overall Sissoko has been good but had he cost £15m people would be saying he needs time and hasn't had enough opportunities. Like Lamela, it's not his fault he was overpriced.
Reading inbetween the lines, Poch is saying Jansen has given up or is slacking at training. That facks me off. Soldado continued to try. No excuses for being shiiiit and a bad influence.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
How has Sissoko contributed more?
Literally does nothing and brings nothing so far. As a seasoned premier league player he should be performing at a much higher level than he is.
Btw what poch said about Janssen he said about Sissoko only just be Xmas too
Both failing so far whether is down to players or Poch I'm not sure but we need both to get going asap

I remember he said it about Sissoko. But Sissoko is now getting game time and Janssen is being excluded. Due to our obvious lack of options upfront, that means Janssen must be really facking Poch off. I don't know of course, but I would contend that Sissoko is at least trying whilst Janssen is in a massive sulk.
As for who contributed more, Sissoko has had the occasional good appearance. Away to United for instance. Penalties aside, I literally don't recall Janssen contributing anything. Correct me if I'm wrong but he's just looked like a Championship striker from day one.

Thing with Sissoko, and we saw it occasionally with Newcastle and definitely with France, there might be a decent player there. Janssen on the other hand? Three weeks into the season Tony Cascarino said he was Championship quality. Looking at it in February, has anyone seen any evidence he's Premiership quality, let alone top 4 quality?

I don't want to get in a t1t for tat argument over who done better as let's be honest both haven't don't nearly enough.
I just expected a bit more from Sissoko due to already being a prem player

No t1t for tat. Unquestionably both have been disappointing.

No one is questioning his attitude to succeed but is he good enough though? If he can back up his quotes with a performance in the next game he plays and builds on it then fantastic. Still not convinced he's good enough but certainly like his desire. I think he knows he has not been good enough and is willing to prove Pochettino wrong.

Not saying you are just that at least he really wants to succeed with us.
Also he mentions how last season was pretty much his first season at a decent ( slightly below ) standard.
I'd 100% keep him but add another pacey forward to go with him & Kane
