Jose's supposed new deal on the table?

Do you think it's wise to offer a 5 year deal to a manager that is still in his first year of his existing contract? Especially as we have no idea how the end of the season is going to go.

Nobody can deny we are far more attractive to watch under Jose than we were under LVG n Moyes. Some would also argue however that it's not that difficult to achieve that as we were awful to watch under both of them.

I'm all for sticking with Jose whatever happens this summer, even if we lose in the final, finish 6th and also empty handed. However that doesn't mean we should just give him a contract for the sake of it either.

We'd look very hypocritical sacking LVG who came 4th then 5th only on gd and won the FA cup and then rewarding a manager with a 5 year deal who may do worse just because the football is better.

No need to rush this at all. He has 2 years left anyway. We should wait and see in my opinion before committing long term.

Thought you were questioning the ten game claim.

Chelsea have had harder fixtures in that ten game run too haven't they?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

But we've had Europa games and league cup games so it evens out
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Fair point....& Utd will make top 4 easily this term

You have only played Liverpool of the big teams, Chelsea have played Arsenal, Liverpool and Spurs!
----------------------------------------------------------------------

We've played spurs in that run too I think

We aren't as good as Chelsea yet, they are clinical and we are not. When they want to hold on to a lead for the last 5 minutes of a game they actually look like they can do it as well.

United are slowly improving and I'm certain next season we can challenge but Chelsea are far more organised at the moment.

Costa also isn't likely to miss sitters, Ibra who has been a terrific signing (for a free) has scored a lot but he has missed sitters since the City game.

We need a world class striker.

The difference between us and Chelsea isn't just down to Costa, though. They have others that are being clinical in front of goal, we don't.

Zlatan has missed a lot of chances, but so have others. He's by far our top scorer, goals from elsewhere is a far bigger problem.

2 year extension doesn't sound unreasonable but I still dont think Utd will get top four given the fixtures and as such I doubt it would be offered.
