Huddersfield Town 1 Reading 0

Date: 21/02/17

Venue: John Smiths Stadium

Kick off: 7.45pm

Welcome to the official match day thread of Town V Reading,

Back to the Bread & butter & by far the most important games of the season are upon us.

I’ll mention the cup, if Sutton & Arsenal win tonight we might get a replay on the BBC …….

Anyway… The proper stuff.

Since David Wagner took charge in November 2015, only three Championship teams (Brighton 123, Sheff Wed 108, & Leeds 98) have won more points than Town (97).

Two inform teams as you’ll see from the form guide.. ( latest last )

Town- LWWWWW

Reading – WWWDDW

Last time in Udders..08/03/16 Town 3 Reading 1 , the crowd that night was 10,167… I expect to double that this midweek… ( how times change )

As expected Newcastle beat pathetic Villa to move 8 points ahead...

Meaning Town will be 7 & 8 points behind the top 2… so, yes the pressure will be now on us to maintain our form.

Win & we are in a 3 way race for auto, because beating Reading will all but end Reading’s auto hopes. Lose & its probably play offs, but Brighton play Newcastle next week, then Newcastle come to Town….

I really think we have nothing to fear from any fixtures, our second team played & matched Man City on Saturday, Rumours have it that Reading think we’ll be tired on Tuesday….
Doubt it, 6 or 7 changed will mean ( apart from Hogg ) that we have a full strength fresh team…

Saw this deal on The HTFC Website… after 200 tickets are sold in the Temp seats, every ticket is £2 !

Will be good to have the NSL back & another 20,000 crowd, expensive time for Town fans, with Barnsley & Man City tickets on General sale !
Anyway.. prediction time…

Town 3 Reading 0

I think Reading were far better than Leeds tbh. Wednesday were better than Leeds, and Reading were better than them. Given the awful conditions and the wind and rain in their faces all second half, I thought they got it down and knocked it around really well, and their pressing game was every bit as good as ours. They did waste time quite a bit, but so have most teams that have come to us this season. That's nothing but a compliment to how far we have come. Credit to Al Habsi for rushing over and helping Wells when he cramped up. A nice touch from the big fella that was hugely appreciated by the home crowd.

My opinion of Reading has gone up massively after last night. I now see exactly why they're where they are.

What's happened to Derby again?

Cheers Igor.

Was looking through the Derby thread from earlier in the season. I got a bit giddy on the wind up and it was fun to see the bites again..."form is temporary, class is permanent..." I'll be honest and say I genuinely expected by this point a few clubs would have climbed above us, Derby being one of them.

They were right though, those Derby fans....Class really is permanent. We're proving it every week

I thought it was a cracking game last night. town started off well and closed Reading down, they were struggling but held on and grew into the 1st half as it went on. In fact by half time they could have had 3 but for Wards saves and us just about getting away with a couple of decent corners(by the way why are we no good at corners?)
2nd half Reading seemed to want to try and take the sting out of the game but the longer it went on the more we went for it and it cost Reading dearly.
Great game, great atmosphere, great result...roll on Barnsley on Saturday

Every game at a time... 6 straight wins, a brilliant season... Yet still 3rd with an inferior goal difference... The top 2 will take some shifting.
