Wrapped in gold

My entirely unscientific research suggests that we always perform much better away when we are playing in our gold kit.

I didn't really like it that much at first, but it's won me around. Looks quite luxury. Makes us play like kings (most of the time!). Whenever we play in gold, I feel much more confident. No idea why, and there is probably no evidence to back it up, but some of our best away performances this season have come with us playing in gold. Pure superstition, of course, but still.

Anyway, an excellent performance yesterday. A great, much-needed win against potentially tricky opponents. After the disappointments of Gent and Liverpool, this is exactly what we needed. We were at it from the first minute yesterday, full of buzz, invention, energy and commitment. Poch got the reaction he wanted from the players. In fairness, this group of players is generally very good at responding to set-backs.

Winks, Trippier, Eriksen, Alli and Kane were all excellent, it was great to have Jan and Toby back together, and Wanyama strolled around, winning balls back and knocking the opposition over, in his usual strong and assertive way.

If we play like we did yesterday, we should turn things around against Gent. Millwall won't be easy, but you'd much rather play them at the Lane than the New Den. It was probably the best draw we could have hoped for, barring maybe Boro or Huddersfield at home. COYS.

Lincoln?

anyway, I wouldn't get carried away. Fulham were absolutely awful. We did play well, but they allowed us to.

would be nice for someone else to weigh in with a couple of goals every now and again. Kane and Alli seem to be the only ones the score, with the occasional flourish from Son

Lincoln could be dodgy especially with the mentality of our squad

That's the thing about gold, it makes you always believe in your soul. Indestructible too.

Surprised more clubs don't rely on that philosophy.

Would've preferred us to get drawn against Sutton to be honest...

Fulham were poor. I was expecting more from them. But we made them look bad by putting them on the backfoot from the get-go. We never allowed them to settle.

They're doing OK in the Championship, and apparently play some of the most attractive football in their league. I think, as Jenas said, they tried to take us on in pure footballing terms and that was never going to work, with our superior quality. If they'd made it more of a battle, they might have had more success. But that's not the Fulham way.

You'd back us to beat Lincoln at home, but it's a potential banana skin. As we found out against Wycombe, albeit with a second-string side, that can cause issues. I'd rather leave it to Arsenal, assuming they get through tonight (which is no given).

It is because when we play in White teams mistake us for Fulham or Swansea and think we are an easy team to beat.

Whereas when we play in gold we look like knights with bling. Thus are more intimidating.

truly Fulham were non-existent, very pacive we like teams like than who dont go at us, the high pressing Teams like Pool and to a lesser extent Gent will give us problems, we have to find a way to get the ball back to front quicker, the problem we have no-one to hold it up

The gold kit has really grown on me. I prefer it to the blue now I think

I really like all three kits this season
