I don't agree with how unsuccessful you make Mourinho sound though. Even in recent years he's done better for real than pellegrini, Benitez, and arguably Ancelotti. In fact only Zidane has done a better job at real than Mourinho in the last decade or so which is the right context to compare.

Interestingly, the year-on-year improvement in the league under Pellegrini was massive, even though he had no say on signings, was handed a team with about 7 new starters and was expected to completely change our playing style.

Marca's campaign for him to be axed started barely a few weeks into the season. It was definitely conducted in connivance with -if not orchestrated by- Pérez himself.
