I've been watching a lot of old footage lately (mostly cos what Rangers serve up these days is utter schite), and reminiscing about great results, performances and players. Also feeling sorry for those guys who were some of my favourite players, yet they never got a break at the club. Two spring to mind:
Tugay - Probably one of the most talented midfielders we ever had, yet I don't think he really got a fair crack of the whip.
Gabriel Amato - Definitely one of the most skillful players I've ever seen in a Rangers kit. Instant control and great skills and tricks. Good team player too. He played for Boca Juniors, Independiente, River Plate and Gremio so he had serious pedigree too, but it just never really happened for him and I never understood why.
So who's your nearly men?
Also I was looking through some of the squads to see who they were team mates with, and in Amato's time there was a guy called Luigi Riccio.

Reading this and seeing Juninho, I googled him and am shocked to find out that Juninho (the one who played for Celtic) is only 2 years older than Juninho (the one of Lyon and Freekick fame). For some reason in my head they are totally different generations and I would have guessed at least 10 years between them. Maybe just me in my old age.
