If what the Mirror says in that article is true, don't envy the owners their position. Stick with Ranieri and get relegated? What else could they do?

Hardly surprising some of them do considering he built the team and the foundations for our League success, doesn't mean they had anything to do with CR's sacking though, the results, poor tactics and second season syndrome did that.

Is this a player power thing to do with selections, or have some become so exasperated with muddled direction (as per rumours of last-minute tactical changes etc) that they want the previous manager back?

It's easy to draw simple conclusions from statements like Winter's but the reality may be much more complicated.
