Roberto Mancini

Has been sounded out by the owners according to Rob Dorset. If Leicester appoint Roberto Mancini as a replacement for Ranieri they will help cement their growing reputation as the one of the most clueless pair of owners in the footballing world.

Sure they've been fantastic for the club financially and that shouldn't be underplayed, but it's becoming increasingly clear that they don't have a clue what they're doing when making footballing decisions.

Appointing Mancini would be an even worse decision than appointing Rudkin as DoF. He's never been in a relegation battle. He fell out with a number of players at Man City and started losing the dressing room. He's highly combustible and his record since leaving Man City is pretty gash

When are Vichai and Top going to get football people in to advise them? I
Agree CR had to go but it's taken senior players to speak to them directly about how bad it's got. Why did they issue that embarrassing vote of confidence 2 weeks ago when they clearly hadn't understood how bad things were behind the scenes

From a footballing perspective I have little confidence in these owners who stumbled upon success in many ways and have let almost everyone responsible for that success leave the club

We aren't Manchester City. We're Leicester City. We have to stop pretending we are Roma it's getting ridiculous

We are side heading for the drop with massive disharmony behind the scenes. Mancini has no experience of a relegation battle and has a history of falling out with players and staff. He was poor at Galatasary and has done nothing since Man City

He's another out of touch manager who is heading in the wrong direction in his career

I am aware of his issues at Man City but where else has he had fall outs with players and staff like at City? As for nothing since Man City he win the Turkish Cup with Galatasaray and would have stayed on if the owners hadn't moved the goalposts, something they admitted to in public. He then returned to Inter who were a club on their knees to help try and resurrect them.

As for pretending we are Roma, its nothing to do with that. Its getting a manager who fits, has respect, and experience of winning and knows how to win.
If we get a manager who knows how to fight a relegation battle and is successful etc but then cannot take us to the next level we then have to change manager again.
Lets get a proven winner in and see where it leads.

Winning anything with galatasary in Turkey is like winning something in Scotland with Celtic. You could probably do it DDDD. It no indication of anything....

Why has he just been sacked from Inter? Have you seen the results??

This guy was handed a war chest at man city and won the title. Ranieri won the title with us, was he the right fit for a relegation battle?

If we appoint Mancini we are finished

Its a sign of winning, you cannot deny that.

As for Inter, well they have been through 3 managers in the 12 months since Mancini left so that tells you the issues there are club related rather than manager related and if you look at the last 20 years Mancini lasted longer at Inter than any other manager.
And for me his roll call of managerial honours makes him a stand out candidate for me.
As for the Man City war chest, we have seen this season that a war chest doesn't guarantee you the title as Man City and Man Utd spent big last summer.

Maybe give him a bit of credit BS.

O'Neill until end of season then see where we are.. You have to have half an eye on next season, where will we be, if it's the championship that's a different type of manager to prem Lge, mostly anyway.

You're thinking we are a top 6 club. We're a small side that's hurtling towards relegation. The last thing we need is an Italian manager with a defensive philosophy who is used to working with huge amounts of money

It's another Sven. These guys are completely unsuitable for a club like ours. You can't expect his success at Man City to just copy and paste over to our situation. It doesn't work like that

Mancini wouldn't be my first choice but if he is the chosen one then we have to give him a chance. Let's not write him off before he's even signed the contract. He's a big name, has handled big name players (with varying degrees of success) and we've got to hope that he will be able to take control of the dressing room and get them organised and motivated.

There's 13 games left, we probably need to win 6 of them to stay up. It wouldn't take a huge turnaround to change the tide.

Foxello - he fell out with just about everyone at Man City. He's probably one of the worst examples I can think of to restore dressing room harmony right now given that he is so highly strung as a person himself

Also he's from the same safety first possession football school of thinking as Ranieri. That's fine when you have the players to play that way - we don't.

It's as bad as the time we signed him as a player. Do you not think this is a sign that the owners just don't know what they are doing footballing wise?

If we were bringing Mancini in during the summer, I would tend to agree. But what we need right now is someone to come in, take control of the situation and turn the tide for the next 13 games. Right now, all that matters is those 13 games. I'm not sure Mancini is the answer in the long term, but I do think he could turn it around in the short term.

Just leave as is till the end of the season everyone thinks they can do CR's jobs and the players need to step up...i will be happy if they do it too for the avoidance of doubt.
