haven't read any of the fallout from the game, but here is my view.
I am fairly philosophical about the whole thing. It was simply awful to go out to Gent, but we were punished for the first leg, but the 10 that took the pitch second half I don't think could have done any more. Very disappointed to be out, and very concerned about our Wembley record (genuinely think we will finish mid table next season if we play our home games at Wembley), but maybe it will allow us to kick on in the league as our squad is very thin.
I am disappointed with Alli, but the tackle reminded me of the Gerrard on George Boateng challenge all those years ago, young midfielder making a shocking tackle, and I am sure he will learn to control himself, like Gerrard did eventually (most of the time). I am glad he didn't break the guys leg.
However, he has to be considered a red card risk as he plays on the borderline every game, and don't forget he let us down at the end of last season getting banned for crucial run in games due to punch v west brom.
So, my question is, should he be dropped? two ways of looking at it.
1. He let himself, his team, his manager, his club and his fans down, and has to learn right now that this is unacceptable, and should be punished (dropped) until he learns to behave himself. Happy for the club to fine him too, if they feel it necessary.
2. He let himself, his team, his manager, his club and his fans down, and he will be eager to make amends and owes us a big performance on Sunday, so he should play

CFC was maybe recognizing the fact that Chelsea has probably already taken one spot. That would leave 3 spots open to 5(?) teams as in Arsenal, Man. City, Spurs, Liverpool and Man. United. However, CFC can speak for himself!
