Why does he escape from criticism? Is it because Spurs are so bad that finishing in top 4 is actually like winning a title?
This is a man who's team finished 3rd in a two horse race for the title last season. Consistently getting embarrassed in Europe, whether it's CL or EL. Not forget getting knocked out of domestic cup competitions in the early stages for a laugh.
Arsenal get a lot of negative attention from media, who can forget that trophyless period that would get bought up each game. Now the last time Spurs won a trophy was actually 9 years ago, which was the small league cup. Can anyone remember the last time they won a bigger trophy?
As gutless Arsenal can be, Spurs always seem to want to do worse. In recent times, it was their best chance to overtake Arsenal. Look at Mourinho, he's on course for a cup treble, whilst also having the target of top 4. Now obviously utd's squad is much superior quality wise with much more money invested too, but not going for any trophy is pathetic from Pochetino and co. If their primary target is to get top 4 each season, with the new stadium coming up, it won't be easy. Plus I doubt these Spurs fans are happy with their cup performances.
This goes for Liverpool too by the way. However Klopp did take them to a final last season, but with them being a much bigger club, I too expect Liverpool to be challenging for trophies.

Leicester won the title with a wage bill of £66m so this excuse of wages and performance is not as simple as to say that higher wages means titles. In fact look at how Chelsea performed last season, Man Utd for the last 4 seasons. When a team wins trophies wages increase automatically. We quite openly criticize Wenger for under-performing though our wages are not as high as Utd, City or Chelsea either. I am sure Spurs fans will ague they are one player away and if they could spend more they could win the title. But you can use that excuse with every club. By the way this was what we were fed when we were promised glory after moving to the Emirates. The only people who made money were the shareholders who sold to Usmanov/Kroenke resulting in the takeover in 2012. It hasn't got us closer to the title and Spurs fans, it won't you either.

Leicester win was no freak. It was a matter of good players with good tactics and the right attitude. The reason why It hasn't happened before is because getting all three of that equation to work is very difficult.
The reason why Leicester have failed this season is because the players stopped buying into Reinieri's tactics because of (a) lack of hunger and (b) lack of commitment. If you are not fully committed you will not succeed.

Of course it is. Doesn't mean it isn't a freak occurrence. You've pretty much said it relies on freak circumstances that are difficult to combine, for a club of Leicester's stature anyway.

Freak suggests it is an one off. But really what Leicester's win proves is that it can be done if only more teams believed and completely bought into their manager's philosophy. And of course that manager was right for the club. Just look at what Simeone has done with Atletico. Which is my point abt Spurs, Arsenal and Liverpool predicament. Its not about money as much as the right manager. And really why Pocho is not doing better than Wenger in anyway! Thats why they should be both criticised equally. We do it to Wenger but Pocho gets a free pass from Spurs fans.

I think a team's own fans are the best judge of how well their manager is performing, thanks

Arsenal have a bigger stature, better resourses, financially miles better than Spurs, hence the high expectations in comparison.Wenger is underachieving considering the resourses available, so the criticism towards him is fully justified.
Spurs are punching their weight imo

Financially reasons mean Tottenham have been overachieving on the pitch. Arsenal are about where they should be but deluded fans think they are an elite club like United, Barcelona or Real.
They can win the league but would have to spend even more than they have recently. Chelsea are demonstrating the obvious - any team that can have a players like Willian on the bench likely to do very, very well. Costa plays shiiit? Doesn't matter because Hazzard or Pedro step up.
Arsenal will be in trouble if Sanchez drops off. Not t saying he will though.

There's clearly way more to it than the right attitude, good players and tactics.
West Brom have bought into the Pulis philosophy. Why aren't they top of the league?
Leicester was a freak occurrence. Certainly no benchmark to measure success by
