Arguably true but what's that got to do with anything?

Because of your comment about him leaving on his own terms.

I always wonder if he realised the limitations of the squad, the rebuilding neccesary and left Moyes to take the can or genuinely left as he felt he was no longer up to it!

I wouldn't call it a curse ,after all ,they all did very well financially out of the situation,and have gone on to make even more money ! poor little things .

SAF ran when he heard Mourinho was coming back.

Fergie retired because of his wife.

Got to hand it to Fergie; the rest of them were sacked or didn't have their contracts renewed essentially because they failed in their follow up seasons to winning a title, while Fergie defended the title plenty of times. Goes to show how difficult it is and how good Fergie must have been. Mourinho for as good as he has been has struggled with it ever since Inter. Even when Arsenal were winning titles they weren't winning them consecutively.

Yeah Fergie was the don in the premier league. I remember hearing one player saying after they'd won the league that he'd put a dampner on celebrations, as it'd been and gone, and now it was all about looking towards the next title.
