Watched the game yesterday and you can see how tired and average we looked. We played against a team who had played no matches for 2 week while we played 4 games at the same time.
Southampton totally outplayed us, they targeted out full back positions and were dangerous on numerous occasion, only when we had carrick on the pitch they didn't look as threatening as they did in first half. Rojo, Lingard, mata and bailly were poor.
i was surprised to see mata play on right side considering micky was and we needed some creativity. lingard was hopeless playing behind zlatan and yes i know he scored but let's be honest any of the utd players could have scored, luckily it went through yoshida's legs. The second chance lingard had was awful had time but he blast it over the bar didn't even test the keeper. I understand why mourinho played lingard over rashford. He needed a player to make an impact from the bench.
Southampton is my 2nd favorite club at the moment. They sold so many of their best players and kept buying untested players. There been finishing top 10 for last few seasons but hopefully there latest bunch of players will hopefully stay with them next season.
We are now officially the most decorated club in English football.
We deserve more credit
