Alex Young.

As i am filtered by Arouna, iwas unable to contribute to his Article below.

I had the great pleasure of seeing Alex play for the Blues and as a keen follower of the team in the sixties, saw him in the 66 final and in all of his games at goodison. his artistry and ability to hover in the air against much taller defenders and to direct the ball with the deftest of movements of his head were amazing.
I used to see him in the Royal Tiger Club near the tunnel entrance with Roy Vernon,Roy Parnell and Jimmy Harris after the Games.
The film,The Golden Vision, was superb. The late Bill Dean featured and the crowd scenes were superb. Another friend of mine,Johnny Gee, Guitarist and actor had a part in the funeral scene as a pallbearer but on the day of filming,it was so foggy the cast retired to the "Blue House" (where the Everton shop now stands). A regular, sitting in the corner of the bar kept buying rounds for Bill Dean, who he thought was a real priest.
The film is still available on You Tube. Take a look have a laugh and delight in sequences like the rolled up echo being passed around as a funnel to save fighting to reach the gents in Gladyws st.
Thanks for the memories Alex.
