Well it starts to make sense...

The inactivity in the January transfer market, and now we announce a £19.8m loss for the financial year.

The stand has obviously hit our transfer market activity quite hard despite what the owners have told us, which is natural.

I just wouldn't expect a large investment in the summer window.

Net us bollox anyway. I'd expect us to spend circa £110- £125m on around four or five players.

Possibly some assorted world class youth on top.

Did you just say world class youth???

I can see us buying 2 or 3 starters, but I really don't see the 100mil net spend.

I can see several departures again, bringing in some money to bolster the transfer kitty. Mig, Lucas, Sakho, Marko, Ings maybe Sturridge.

We could generate about 30-40 mil for that lot, more is Sturridge goes, so we are talking of spending 130-150 million gross?

Can't really see it.

Fair point I guess it depends on what we do recoup but I do want to see us spend 20-30 mill each on four to five players.

At the end of the day, I am not fussed on the money we spend, rather on the quality we bring in.

We need a GK, CB, LB as priority.

Beyond that, a true DM? But will klopp play one seeing as Hendo is there and Captain. Maybe another CM to compete with Lallana and Wij.

Feck it. We need one of everything

Yeah I'd agree man from as long as its the right player I don't mind the cost, I'm basically using the price we paid for Mane as a barometer for what we need to bring in and the players have to have a similar impact, probably wishful thinking

I wont be happy with 6th

Last season we were close to top four before the final few games where we basically gave up and pursued the cups

This season with no Europe

6th would be a massive failure especially with the dismal cup runs

Massive fan of Klopp but 6th is failure

Time for a change of ownership. We need some ambition driving the club along and enough money to bring Klopp the players he wants.

Only one trophy in FSG's considerable time at the club and they sacked the club legend that did it for them.

No excuses they need to put their hands in their pockets and compete with the clubs above us or it's more of the same for the future in terms of failing to win anything or qualifying for the CL.

I've got to be happy with sixth or above. 12 games to go. The team, hopefully feel humiliated beyond belief after Monday will come out and fight against Arsenal.

It's beyond time for some semblance of honour to be restored.

I'm a happy clapper so...

This summer will tell us all whereFSG really stand, from what Klopp and the club have said the money is there for JK to spend, he himself has said he didn't want to spend the money in Jan, of course JK could be towing the party line but also he has shown both at Liverpool and DOrtmund he doesn't spend for the sake of it.

Maybe I'm overly optimistic and also have too much faith in Klopp / FSG but I'm happy with where we are, while of course being disappointed with plenty of games this season I just don't get the doom and gloom going on at the moment.

We're still in the top 4 hunt, albeit we need to win 8 games which at present looks like we won't be able to, but even if we finish 6th within a few points of 4th that must be seen as progress?

What we spend this summer will be a huge sign of how FSG view the club, I fully expect us to sepnd 100 million (net) on players, if we don't spend the guts of that this summer be in in the CL or Europa I'll have lost a lot of faith in FSG and their intention for us as a club.

I think Klopp took the risk of trying to get CL this summer before spending big, there's money there to spend even when you consider FFP, I reckon Klopp got the players he wanted in the summer, JK and the powers that be felt (wrongly) that the squad we started with was stronger than it was (which has been admitted by the club, James Pearse I'm pretty sure it was him, maybe Paul Joyce wrote about it).

They felt we had enough to get top 4 without having europe, which was a mistake, but to be fair think back to the start of the season and we all felt the likes of Studge, Origi, Can would have offered far more than they have this season, like a fully fit and firing Studge brings a totally differetn dynamic to our bench. But these players, and the young lads haven't been good enough, and dips in form to our starting 11, plus injuries has meant we've tailed off allot from where we were at our best this season.

But FFS losing to Leicester, and the bad 2 months isn't the end of the world, the season ain't over yet, so cheer up
