Not even that bothered

I expected a struggle for top 4 and thats where we are at, the only negative being we did so well getting into a superb position in the league only to go and p!ss it all away over the last 3 months or so. We deserve everything we have gotten too since mid december or so the performances overall have been extremely poor.

A real scrap for 4th it is then and if we were not before we definitely are now the massive underdogs for it. I did think we had a decent chance but were probably outsiders for it from the start but now losing faith and probably won't even get 6th in this form.

Anyways hopefully this is a wake up call for owners and Klopp how much work is still needed to be done, and how much harder it is when theres so much competition who have bigger better squads then us already.

I don't think we're massive under dogs for it at all personally.

Fair enough, i do, i think we are well behind the rest in terms of squad strength maybe not so far behind Spurs but behind none the less.

With no European fixtures you wouldn't really expect the same squad depth. In truth Man City, Spurs and Chelsea also have small squads comparable to the depth Liverpool have.

i used the word strength for that reason, yes our squad is one of the smallest but also in terms of quality probably the worst.

Top 4 is important for us in terms of helping attract the better players, but if we don't make it we can still be very competitive in terms of wages we can offer.

We are not in the mix for the top players (say Greizman this summer / Pogba last summer), but we can offer well over 100k a week to a player who deserves that kind of money.

We've struggled badly in the past even when offering decent money, but we have a manager that has more clout than BR / Roy and probably even Rafa.

I get why fans a re down and annoyed at the moment but it's all off th back of 2 bad monhts where the squad issues etc. have been highlighted.

Look at it liek this, if Aug and September were like Jan and Feb, but we went on a run from October to now like we did Aug - Dec and we in this same position havig climbed the table fans would be signing a different tune.

Monday was very disappointing, but I'm not yet willing to say that that will be the norm for the rest of the season, Like Leicester ran a combined 10k more on Monday than in any other game this season, while we were poor they were the best they have been this season bar maybe City at home, they can Feck right off, and IMO they would have beaten anyone in the league on Monday with the way they played and especially worked so hard.

I expected 6th before the season started based on squad but as the season went on and we did so well...... that's why its so disappointing and the temptation is to over react.

Similar to my position, though disappointing as its been after a good start im not all that bothered as my expectations were 6th/5th anyway.

Top 4 is still possible, despite what is being said on this forum.

Certainly a challenge but not impossible.

I thought 6th or 7th aswell...
We won the cup in 2005 so im not overly bothered about the cl....
but its the finances it brings to attract the players ..to actually win the premier league ..(which isnt happening anytime soon)

Catch 22

We have no midfield. You guys will have to much for us at anfield.

Simple formula to beat pool. Defend and hit on the counter but Wenger is too stubborn to adopt that tactic

Yep beat Arsenal, 10s of articles on the Liverpool website about how we've turned it around, we have great mental strength etc and then lose 2-0 to Burnley.

Same old story.
