Just got back from the game and a bite to eat.
I was surprised that Sanchez was on the bench, I wasn't worried about the Arsenal team when the teams were announced, looked devoid of creativity. The defence looked tough though, and thought it would be a really tight game.
Was made up when we scored early and made it 2 just before half time. Thought we'd be cruising to victory, however the introduction of Sanchez changed all that.
As soon as he came on, Arsenal players started to play better - Sanchez gave them a lift. He was also the best player on the park at that point. Can see it in his movement, touch, execution of everything and his aggression.
What the heck was the point of having him on the bench if he is fit to start the second half? I don't get it, is it Wenger foolishly teaching Sanchez a lesson of some description or is Wenger saving him for Bayern Munich?
It may not be totally daft, even if you win a match but lose the tie you still get a big hefty chunk of money.
In my opinion your best attacking players should always play and should be in a position to have/get given more of the ball.
Delighted with the win, but Sanchez doesn't deserve Wenger as a manager.
Sanchez is a winner and a fighter. Don't know what Wenger was thinking today at all.
