Let's be honest what are essentially amateur clubs like Man City, Spurs, Chelsea etc only exist because of United.

People around the world wanted to watch United play so we sold them TV deals, so they could watch United play. This money is then unfairly distributed equally among teams even though it's proper fans like me who pay their sky prescriptions who are the ones giving you the money.

Why do you think rich oil people bought City, Chelsea etc? Because they saw United on TV, couldn't afford us and went for amateur clubs as a play thing.

Everything City, Chelsea, Spurs etc have won in the last 20 years is basically mine. I own it. One day you will be self sufficient and won't have to rely the TV money I gave you against my wishes.

You wouldn't have a club without proper fans like me. Clubs only make a tiny amount of money from match ticket sales. You are essentially killing your club by selfishly going to matches instead of paying your sky prescriptions. Clubs get 99.9% of their money from TV deals.

I am keeping your club alive while you try and kill it. Why do you hate your club so much?

Football fans should give eternal thanks to City and Chelsea for stopping the Prem from being La Liga Lite.

Eric I do not have a problem admitting without the sheiks investment I know we would not be where we are. The point I put to you is that football has moved on & todays clubs like it or not are a business. Therefore it is only expected that money will bring in success through sound investment. Remember too a lot of your income generated was not off the back of on field results. As I said do your history homework.

It appears to me you are somewhat aggrieved that we have the temerity to be challenging the so called divine right of yoonited to win everything. Be it with oil money......

For me, the PL is behind La Liga and arguably the Bundesliga in terms of quality. The league is just marketed ridiculously good.

This.

World class marketing.

The PL is more exciting than any other league, that's why it has a worldwide audience of Billions.

What struck me most was that the line-ups from every team are barely recognizable in the ten year span. Seems like the life-span of many players is, with a few exceptions, less than 10 years. Big money spent on "stars" might be better spent on the development of young home-bred talent?

Not sure the decline in players is as big as people say

City and Spurs massive improvement, Utd and Chelsea downgrade, Arsenal if anything slightly better just with a declining coach, and those Liverpool teams are pretty equal, and in a one off match I'd back the current players

It's a given that English fans vastly overrate both the quality and competitiveness of the PL tho, it's hilarious

Why do opposition fans still refer to MCFC being bought with 'oil money'?

Doesn't anyone drive a car, motorbike or use petroleum anymore in the UK? Try seeing how much petrol would be without the influx of oil from other countries - and see how much Scotland would love to sell England a barrel of oil for!!!

Roman Abramovich made his money from trading in oil, but you never hear Chelsea being proclaimed to have been bought by oil money - so is it a racial thing?

John W Henry made his wealth by trading commodities, mainly corn, withholding information back from farmers when asked by a major broker to share it with them to help.

Man United were bailed out by Man City and a businessman called James W Gibson in 1931 for £40,000. The business was founded by selling uniforms to the British Army in WW1.

Money is money is money. If it's legal, what's the issue, unless your club don't have any to spend.

No club out there has been run as a charity, nor has it been run in the black since it's existence. Every club has needed investment. FFS, Martin Edwards was close to selling United to Robert Maxwell for £10m in 1984! Robert Maxwell!!
Remember the promised investment from Michael Knighton that fell through at the last minute when his two backers pulled out??

So, "oil money"?

Seems oil money is the game to be in when in comes to posting profits and not owing a penny to any hedge fund.

Ghaly

Arsenal and Liverpool have declined the most. Perhaps United too.
