BBC are a joke!

Nothing to do with football, but my missus wanted to watch something on catchup on the BBC.
All BBC content is accessed via their iPlayer.

Then the fun starts - "Do you have a television licence" with a big button for yes and another one for No.
She clicks yes ('cos we do) and then it says "Are you over 16"with a big button for yes and another one for No.

NO other channel does this talk about nanny facking big brother state

Seriously, isn't it about time they scrapped the antiquated licence fee and replace it with a limited amount of commercial advertising?

Most of what we watch is all pre-recorded anyway, so we skip over adverts

Doesn't take much to set you off does it? got any holidays booked? Let's see how you enjoy American customs if something like that bothers you

Been to the USA twice mate

Biggest gripe was with the baggage "handlers"

We moved our luggage about 10 times during our 2nd visit. Needed new bags when we got home

So you didn't mind the massive delays due to the hundreds of pointless questions you get asked? But your complaining about pressing a remote control button twice

All the terrestrial channels ask if you're over 16, and give the option to set up a parental lock. The TV licence question is a bit daft. Who would ever answer no?

I'd sooner they kept ads of the BBC.

If you watch c4's online stuff you've got 2 ads that are undroppable before it begins and another 2 or 3 at various points later.

Or, you could go with sky or such like who will charge you through the teeth for the privilege and then spend so much on sporting rights and hbo, that the rest of their programming suffers badly.

I'd rather not have ads on the BBC, but why don't you get asked about the licence when just switching over to regular BBC? It's only on their [exceedingly slow, clunky, flaky] iPlayer

best yet if you click no it still loads the content

It is so you cannot claim ignorance of the fact you need a TV licence to watch an app.
