Burton A v Nottingham F - Match Thread

Burton welcome Forest today in one of the worlds most anticipated games. The merry men of Forest making the long arduous trip of 26.9 miles door to door. Us fans meanwhile, will either jump on a bus, train, bike to the ground or even to the sofa....to tune into the feast of football on the wonderfully stable Forest Player.

Personally, I haven't really been fussed. I know we are not going down and I haven't been that high to think we are going up. When Forest give me lemons, I get a good nights sleep.

After beating Brighton I was expecting big things against Brentford, but, Brazil took out or two goal scorers...if only i'd checked before. I would've cashed out my accumulator there and then. He has promised not to do it again, so hopefully, he won't do a Fawaz (lie, lie and lie again).

We've had a tough run of fixtures recently and our results show that...7 points from the last 7 games...it has to be an omen for 3 points today. Burton have 10 from seven games...another clear omen that we will win.

So, will the diminutive Clough of Forest feature (for the love of God) to dismantle the miserable Clough of Burton? This for me is key. Play the right team in the right positions and hey Bingo! we have 3 points in the bag.

One game at a time, but a win would surely quell even the most pessimistic amongst our fans that relegation is not a reality, but just fake news.

We could head to Derby just 9 points behind them, a win could take it to six!!! Could we really finish above them? Probably not, but top half would be a great achievement based on another rollercoaster season sponsored by Fawaz.

Enjoy the game Reds. I won't be tuning in for this one, but will be watching the Derby stream next week

If we are honest the Brighton result totally flattered us, we have been papering over the cracks for a long time.

Without that win (which I agree, was a huge slice of luck), we'd be in the bottom 3 right now. It is inevitable this time, we've dodged relegation for a few seasons but it's catching up with us.

We are in serious sheet now. Blackburn with a game in hand, Wolves with two. Dropping Britt to bench would have been enough wouldn't it?

Wolves and Blackburn both have midweek matches on Tuesday, fortunately both are away at Brentford and Fulham respectively, can't see either of them getting anything from their trip to London, so there is a bit of hope, but only a bit.

Bristol play on Friday as well, we could be in the bottom three when we kick off against Derby... although all 3 have difficult opponents.

How's it going lads??

Christ we are 5hit at the moment but there's always a silver lining...

Cannot wait for next Saturday. It's gonna be great!

It was a mistake to play both McCormack and Clough. Both were trying to do the same job, both failed. We had no quality in midfield so we couldn't pass it through them, but we had no wingers so we couldn't go wide and put crosses in.

I'm not sure what the game plan was today; can someone enlighten me

I have always been an admirer of Nigel. I think - and always did think - slippery Sam Rush got it badly wrong when he fires Nigel. Caught up in the derby/Forest rivalry I think after losing 1-0.

Yep, good call. Been too trigger happy ever since and haven't successfully built on the stability Nigel brought Derby.
