Mamadou

Very positive article in The Guardian today by Dominic Fifeld about Sahko. It lays out the history, the past twelve months the he has gone through, admittedly not all positive.

Since he been at Palace, he's played in the last two games and they've won, with him playing a blinder, taking no prisoners, including the ref no less, in the process. The article goes on to say that, despite the negativity from the club and especially the manager, his performances 'have not gone unnoticed.'

Is it beyond the realms of possibility that Juergen gives him another chance. He's learned his lesson, he missed out on France 2016, our EL final.

I hope he comes home.

It seemed to have clicked with Sahko and then the drug test happened. He was an absolute monster for a while but the ban stopped that continuing. We could have done with him this season, that's for sure. Hopefully he gets another chance.

I think he's very ordinary, just like Lovren, Klavan, and our Smalling, Jones and Rojo.

Both our clubs should aspire to better

Agreed post, we should be looking to find a quality partner for Matip, who does look quite good. With Lovren becoming the 3rd choice.

No place for Sakho in the squad.

Good player, Matip. He'll be better next year as well now he's had a season to work the prem out.

I agree 100% nearly man. I think Matip has the potential to be one of the best centre backs in the Premier League. Strong, quick, good on the ball and reads the game better than most defenders. Just need a top partner for him now.

Its likely that we will get priced out for VVD, not to forget the competition for his signature. After that realistically who else is out there who could partner Matip? Are we likely to find someone who is better than Sakho?

I agree Jimmy the Red, Keep Sakho if Klopp can't sign VVD which I'm pretty certain we'd get priced out of if VVD was going to be sold. With defense of a reliable specialist LB, Sakho, Matip and Clyne we'd be more far more solid. Given there are usually injuries having Lovren to come in instead of Klaven or Luucs and the Centre Back options look significantly stronger. Sakho is a natural stopper attacking the ball and Matip looks very comfortable on the ball and able to mop things up in addition to his other attributes. If Costa and Hazzard can get forgiven for giving up at points for their club why is there no chance for forgiveness for Sakho for woeful and bad decision making, he's never given up for us from what I can tell and seems a good guy at heart.

I've never rated Sakho, and it'll be good riddance imo. I think too many fans fell for his mad hair do's and chest thumping. Gave the ball away in dangerous positions too often, and just too inconsistent for what we need long term. His childish, disruptive behaviour on the tour, especially considering the fact he wasn't even playing, was the nail in the coffin, and sums him up.

Clearly couldn't cut it at PSG and we have all found why that was when he joined us. Sakho is just not dedicated enough to be consistently good. He's found his level at Palace.

I hope the policy on transfers changes this summer. We take too many risks on players we bring in IMO.

The likes of Sturridge and Coutinho are classic examples. Yes they have been brilliant some of the time but Sturridge for example had his attitude and injury problems at Chelsea and he's carried that on here.

Coutinho was always struggling to find consistency when he was at Milan and then was loaned out at various clubs. He's been good for us but inconsistent.

Lovren divided opinion at Lyon and Saints. Good one game crazy errors the next, he's been the same here.

Can was always seen as a player with huge talent but just a season or two away from being totally reliable, he's only improved slightly since he joined us.

It's testament to Klopps abilities that we are as high in the league as we are. Most of the players need to improve and he's the man for the job.

That brings me back to Sakho. Klopps got him out the door as soon as possible. Tells you all you need to know. He won't be coming back to Anfield anytime soon.

Coutinho was a kid at Milan, just moved to Europe from Brazil.

He was loaned to espanyol. Only one club, not "various clubs". And he played just 28 times in 3 seasons for Milan, like I said he was a kid there.

He has suffered with inconsistency at times here but it's not as if it was a massive trait present during his Milanese days. Every kid is inconsistent, he was none more so than any other and he didn't really play enough to show any consistency or inconsistency.
